What have you done to your P5 today?

First off I chopped the harness. If you look at the first picture I posted there was about 10 feet of extra wire which I really did not feel like trying to hide. So, I broke out my mad soldering skills and went to town =)

Came out with a almost perfect custom fit harness.

they're lookin good. the wiring harness ARE pretty long. i'm lovin the dome light pics as well. i also have replaced my interior lights to superwhite leds. nice and bright.

The harness was so long I could have wired them to the rear sills and still had spare wire lol It was crazy!!

But yeah I LOVE the LED dome panel I recomend it to anyone looking to upgrade!!

Does it fade like the stock tungsten bulb when the doors are closed? Is it plug and play, or more than that?

Yeah when it is set on door mode it is about half power, then you can flick it to ON and it will blind you.

So yeah it works like the stock system with the timer that fades the light off with the doors.

got into an accident today (doh)
short story even shorter i backed into some guy, no damage to his, wrinkled my bumper (argh)
maybe body shop can bump it back into place or something (doh)

ARG! I just can't get this rattle to go away! I bought and installed a *************** header (great piece, I'm doing a review of it in a couple days) and now I have another rattle. The header fits well and clears the oil pan but my stock midpipe that joins to the header flange may be the culprit. The midpipe flange is really close to the oil pan. I'm just frustrated so I called it a day with working on the P5 today. I'm just going to drive it and enjoy the new header and MP3 ECU...

What kind of rattle are you getting?

It's like metal on metal, but a really light vibration thang. It used to only do it at 3100rpms, now it does it at 3000rpms and 2200rpms. Before I put the header on I could push up on the pipe after the cat ever so slightly and it would stop. Maybe the midpipe flange is just rattling against the oil pan at just the right rpms.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Finally took my dash apart to work on my ac problem... see the AC 1 & 4 thread for the pics... man I really wanted to fix this today or over the weekend, I guess I'm going to have to put everything back together until I can get the part and pull it all apart again... I hate that part of working on cars.....

ill be adding some of that vinyl to the roof tomorrow.

also
added a new mod to my cousins car today...

That flange shouldn't be able to touch the oil pan esspecially with the heard in there now. How do your engine mounts look? Also check if the exhaust is touching that cross plate under the car right before the first exhaust hangers.

Only reason I asked too was I have this tapping noise at idle coming from the driver side floor board that's driving me nuts and for the life of me I can't find it.

They may not suit everyones tastes, but I see it as the little things that count. Not bad for a father-son DIY job :p They didnt turn out as we planned, with years of amorall treatment, it had inbedded in the paint, so when we went to put a coat of blue on, it turned all blotchy. We decided to sand back to bare plastic...

^^^ I typically don't like interior paint, but that looks damn good! A nice suttle colour to match your exterior and well done!

Well, I thought for sure it was that midpipe flange tapping the oil pan, so I notched the flange to clear it. It's still rattles. Arg! Haha. So I'll have to have a look under it again...

I replaced the front MM just a few weeks ago. I've had this rattle for about a year, just at 3100rpms. I've got CS uerethane exhaust hangers all around so. I'll have to crawl under it again with a friend at the throttle and see if I can't find the source. I doubt your rattle is hitting the crossmember, that's kinda far away...
