What have you done to your P5 today?

i think my car hates me. its popping and s*** under braking(normal daily braking).
i washed it but i also think it hated that too ha ha

^Must do! Mine smells like rust

Oh, and my rear driver's side brake squeaks all the time now. I think it's time to get new

lol the fluid in ours was like a dark forrest green...quite a bit different than the highlighter yellow of the new stuff haha

Anyway, it was time to tackle the big one (lol). By this I mean the rear mount. After hours of struggling with the dumbest ******* wiring setup in the world blocking my way (seriously what the hell is that stupid plastic bracket the holds the big bundle of wires doing mounted to the firewall?) I finally got to the mount. I get my breaker bar and go to town on the middle bolt. I finally get it after a quick wrestle and then it gets stuck about a third of the way out. So I use a hammer and screwdriver in the weirdest way to finally get it out and then I go to tackle those three bolts. This is where I was stopped dead in my tracks. Even with the swivel socket, extensions, and breaker bar, there was no way in hell that I was able to pry those suckers loose. I tried to loosen em a little with the electric impact wrench I bought but it wasnt budging no way no how. After hours of struggling with it, I had no choice but to shut it down and put it back together. I had to have my friend help me get the damn bolt thru the middle of the stock mounts again which sucked but needless to say, I couldn't get the job done. I'll have to find someone with an air impact wrench with a LOT of torque and replace it some other time.
After all this I just have to ask; did you remove the intake manifold to do this or did you try to work your way around it (I couldn't tell by your description)? If you remove the IM you have a clear shot of that MM.

and I had a clear shot at the bolts even though it was a tight fit but they wouldn't budge no matter what.

EDIT: I removed the throttle body so I could have the clear shot at them.

I actually didn't remove the intake mani. I was kinda afraid to do so since I've never taken it off so I don't even know how to.
Ah, I'm willing to be that would have made the job 10x easier. Even though removing the IM is kind of annoying you would have saved yourself a lot of problems. I think I've had the IM off on my car 4 times now and I've removed another froma friends car. It takes about an hour to remove mine because of the stupid STB but I could probably remove one from a stock car in 30 minutes or so now. Just experience and knowing where everything is. It really is only like 10 bolts/nuts, the EGR and the throttle cable.

Yea man I mean I think that with an air impact wrench, I wouldn't need to do anything else but what I did yesterday. The problem is finiding one.

can someone tell me if these will fit? I'm looking for winter rims and I found a good deal here locally on a set of these. They're 15x6.5 with a +29 offset. Here's the link if you need it.

EDIT: what size tire should I go with for them as well. I'm thinking 185/65 but I may be completely wrong.

I don' think anything with that offset will fit.

Oh, and whose in a midnight blue pro5 in the Bithlo area? I think it had a MSP front lip and was lowered on rims. Very clean looking. I was headed towards 95 through bithlo lastnight around 7 or so in my car.

would the fact that it is a 6.5" wide rim offset the offset? lol

and I know Rishie's fitment recipe almost by heart now lol so I make sure to check it every time before asking a question. I also search every time as well.

yes, of course it would. I still think it would stick out too far. The stock wheel is a 6" wheel with a +50 offset.

The widest wheel I was able to fit on the P5 is a 16x7 +43. It only rubs OCCASIONALLY with 215/45s (the RS2 Z212s run pretty wide, with a skinnier tire it'd be fine) on it. A 7" wheel with a +43 offset sticks out 46mm from the hub face. Your 15x6.5 with a +29 offset will stick out 53.5mm from the hub-face. You'd be sticking out almost a full centimeter further (7.5mm, whatever) than mine that has very minimal rubbing.

Doing your homework ftw:
