What have you done to your MSP today?

Got new wheels from my boyfriend for our 5 Year Anniversary!! Best anniversary present EVER!! They're Rotas painted purple pearl, and I <3 them!

Anyone run just an open midpipe?

I need to install my Catless midpipe, because I believe my cat is clogged. Unfortunately, I can't make it to the exhaust shop until mid-next week.

I ran open DP for a week. She was freking loud and would shoot flames under the motor.

I'm running open DP right now. Not too bad, no flames, but definitely loud as hell! No problems with a 200+ mile drive over the weekend.

did the same when my stock midpipe cracked at the weld on the cat. i would purposely rev high when i got near pedestrians and let it backfire haha

hahaha yeah that's pretty fun to do. I LOVE the fact that when I'm on the turnpike it's so loud that people automatically get out of my way!!

I ran a klze with no exhaust at all. s*** was so incredibly loud and high pitch. It was fun.

That was only until we made it to the exhaust shop though.

MSP almost left me stranded Wednesday night. Turned the key and got nothing. Messed with the alarm system reset, pulled battery wire, etc and got nothing when turning the key. Battery still had plenty of juice. Reached around the engine to see if I could reach the starter, and I could, then on a whim I tried starting it again and it fired right up. My best guess is that the signal wire to the starter is messed up. I had to mangle that wire when I dropped the transmission the replace the clutch, so I'm thinking it just has a bad connection now.

Either way, my MSP is getting long in the tooth mileage wise and rust-wise. The winters have not been kind to it. It might be time to move on to another MSP, an MS3, a Mini JCW, BMW 135i, etc.

I'll probably be parting ways with my MSP sooner or later. I sold my MX5 today and the MSP is next. It would be a good starting point for you if you want to make power but not a good choice if you wanted it fairly stock. The block and head are the only stock parts on the car power plant wise, it has cryo treated gear sets and welded diff housing so the trans is ready for more power. Black FMIC and shaved trunk lid on a Sunlight Silver 03.5.

New suspension installed.

Next on the list:
Battery
Endlinks
SS brake lines

Got a battery and hooked up a code reader, message I got was: no powertrain DTCs or freeze frame data presently stored in vehicle computer. Is my ecumenical fried or will getting a reflash solve this?

Hail came through earlier and beat down on the 8 and the MSP as well as the 6... I'm only really concerned with the MSP because it has limited liability only. If it's damaged, it'll be on CL tomorrow for dirt cheap.

if youre going to be selling it for dirt cheap you might as well return it back to stock, sell your aftermarket parts and make a little bit of cash, then sell it on CL for aforementioned "dirt cheap" price

Still need a battery to get it out of the garage lol also need to figure out if the gas is still good since it's been sitting for about 5 months.

probably fine, add some sta-bil just as a precaution.

yeah, if anything I'll be staying out of boost until thats all gone... I think it was like 3/4 of a tank which sucks too.

I just want to drive the MSP again.

I really want to drive my car but im highly unmotivated to fix it.

I feel your pain. I just installed all these suspension goodies (ksport RR coilovers, whiteline control arm bushings, new ball joints, cusco lower tiebar) and cant get an alignment yet. So, Ive only been brave enough to go around the neighborhood. Feels so stiff and tight. Fix yours already lol
