What have you done to your MSP today?

Nice.

I'm not going to have the money to build a motor for at least another year. So I'm sticking to low boost, and 225whp this year, lol. If I can get motivated and swap this motor.

re dynoed today, 298hp at 16lbs! tuned it back down to 274hp to be safe and get my block fully broke in before i break anything else lol ill have pics and my dyno sheets up hopefully when i get back in town.

I volunteer to hit you with a stick until you get it done.

Well, I have a very busy job (General Manager of TN), and two kids and a wife to take care of, so my attention is spread pretty thin these days. If the MSP was my main form of transportation, or I was a younger, single guy i would have had it done a while ago. I just don't like spending my free time under a car, lol.

I have a weird misfire I need to figure out when I get back to Florida. Replaced one coil pack to no avail (tried it in both spots) so I'm going to pull the spark plugs next. Its only when I have it past half-throttle and boost starts to build. It feels like its ignition related, but who the hell knows.

Also want to replace the shifter bushings soon. Anyone know where to get replacement grease-able swaybar bushings for the AXR bracket? Mine are finally shot (after about 50k miles) and need replacing. Several hard winters and now salty air summers have finally taken their toll. Nice that they lasted a bunch longer than the original ones...

Mine is going to be down for a while.

The gear selection rod is broken. Where the rod bolts to the shift linkage. That welded piece has broken.

I did 2 motor pulls this year alone and will plobably be pulling the motor again next fall

Only two?! Amateur! Try 4! Actually I pulled two other Protege motors this year, so that's 6... Wow... I plan on pulling the Renesis this Spring and taking to Kevin Landers for a "preventative maintenance" rebuild.

I pull the motor because I go through parts from racing and not blowing it up from street driving :) I've never blown an engine up yet. I just like to go through bearings and rings.

That's how mine started... Just bearings here and there... 3 times on the Dragon... Then I decided to go big time and throw rods through the block...

Going to pick up the Speed today...all fixed and back together!!! Also picked up another P5 loaded with goodies last night...

Since November 16th I have had two Spicy's and 4 Protege5's...lol...

I have a feeling I'll be throwing a rod this next season. Hopefully not, but oh well. The motor has over 230k, stock turbo at 130k, and somehow still runs like a champ. Love this car. Soon to have my 17x9 with 245's for next seasons autoX.

you have anything to help prevent oil starvation?

Thats the only thing I really worry about when I start autoxing this car....should I be worried about that as long as oil level is good?

Always check your oil levels. I'm also going to be running a Doc B oil setup with my AWR pan this year. On top of that an oil pressure guage is a must and watch your revs in the long swooping turns. If the revs are high the first run around your might want to up the gear the next time around. I try to stay under 5k rpms while in long turns, but it always doesn't happen like you want it to. There is so much going on in that short period of time.

Okay, so I got an offer for a 91 Miata and a 99 Miata for my MSP. Both completely stock. The NA has 230k and the NB has 170k... NA has a new top, clutch, and battery... NA is blue and NB is silver... I've seen the NA before and it's in pretty good shape except for some clearcoat peeling... Both M/T... Damn it...
