What have you done to your MSP today?

Had the AC system recharged again, this time had them add dye to the system to see where else there might be a leak. Cold air again for at least another 2 weeks LOL

I hope it's not the evaporator.

if you've ever bumped something with the rear bumper I'd check back there around the tailights.

Look for puddles of water in the trunk on the far left and right. If so, take some silicone and cover all of the melds around the tail lights.
So I'm leaking water into my cabin somewhere again. I have the smell of mildew very strong but don't feel moisture anywhere.. happened about a year ago when I first bought it but it went away after looking for it for a week. Anyone ever had this issue?

The evaporator is incredibly easy to replace on a Protege. I replaced mine when I did my expansion valve, becaue I figured it'd be a paint in the ass, but I had it done in an hour.

The low mileage compressor I put on my car, thinking it'd be the best one to put back and the clutch is bad.

i was looking at the pdf for it in the workshop manual, it looked like there was a bunch of s*** to take on and off of the evap itself, or is it just a pretty easy, take the old evap out of the cooling unit and put a new one in?

Common spots for water leakage is the trunk sides where the jack area is but on each side. This is likely caused by a small hit in the rear of the car. The other spot is the computer in the front passengerside leaks as well and gets the carpet wet. And if the driver side front is damp check your firewall seals. A lot of people will remove then to run a power wire for a sub and never properly reseal the hole. I hope that helps.

The passengerside water leak I have NO idea where that is coming from. The rear trunk leaks i can help you out with. i've had a leak on both sides of my trunk area and got those sealed up.

Remove the lines at the firewall with a quick disconnect tool; remove the glove box; remove the evaporator case lower half; remove the upper half and the evaporator.

Other than the quick disconnect you'll need a 10mm, extension, and phillips screwdriver. It only calls for like 1.7hr excluding evac. and recharge.

ok, the thing in the pdf I was looking at must have been talking about deconstructing everything in the cooling unit then...no biggie then.

Any preference on who to get the evap from or are most aftermarket ones pretty much the same?

Mines been hit in the passenger rear quarter I know that. Ill look there first. But I'm gona tear my interior out n look for the mildew hopefully.

Mine leaks into the passenger side rear floorboard. No idea where it's coming from.

Same here, but it's only after REALLY bad rains and not even enough to warrant me looking for it.

pee on your winshield and look for yellow stuff inside the car. haha jk

My car used to leak a while ago. In the passenger footwell, had Damian calc up the seals over there again. The water also used to slowly roll down into the rear passenger foot well cause I park on a slight incline. I started a thread on this a while back, lots of good info in there. Got rid if the leak a long time ago but cant get rid of the smell no matter what I try.

Drive around with all 4 windows down every time you can and it will eventually dry out everything and make the smell go away.

Oh its been a couple of years and it still hasnt completely gone away. I just spray the interior with febreeze every now and then and keep an air freshner in the car. But there's still that funky smell.

225 40 18 on 8" 40mm offset front 45mm offset rear took alot of work to mostly not rub at my ride height. Not slammed should be no problem!!
