What have you done to your MSP today?

I bought my car a couple of months ago with 118K. Right now the car has 130K and I want to change timing belt, water pump, tensioner, idler, etc. I'm going to buy the parts in rockauto but I don't which brand are good. Can anyone tell me what brand I should buy from rockauto? Thanks for your help.

I didn't know you could use just any kind of magnets destineal? Like can't they come off inside your car???

I'm assuming he'll be sticking those on the outside of the plug and filter, not inside. That would be a BAAAAAAD idea lol

Might pick me up a set and give that a try too :D

Yea, I'll be using them on the outside, although they would probably stay put on the inside(wouldn't ever do it).

I went with Gates, they sell a kit with the belt, tensioner, and idler pulleys. All you need is a new tensioner spring from Mazda. And I also got the WP from rockauto, can't remember the brand but it was listed as 'high flow'.

What brand Mounts would you think would be good, but not to costly? Cuz i was on the high way today and when i went over 70 my whole car was shaking like it was going to just fall apart into pieces

That doesn't sound like bad motor mounts, more like a suspension problem.
Anyways I have Minerva mounts, I got 3 mounts and a lightweight PS pulley for I believe $150 shipped. Apparently more recent orders have been backed up and they have people worried they will never see their mounts or money.

But see.. Most of those magnetic oil drain plugs aren't made of the same metals as an OEM or OEM replacement one, they are made of super soft metals and you can strip the plug even in the first use and cause a leak.. Which wouldn't be good if you didn't know about it lol

Thats where common sense comes into play... A magnetic oil drain plug was one of the first things I did on my MSP right around 40k miles.. and now it has just a hair under 120k and no issues.

Poor MSP has had a rough past 7 days:

Picked up a nail in the R/R tire that was unrepairable. Donut on the car until the new one comes in
Front lip got damaged pretty bad at above tire shop when a mechanic tried to put his tool box through it. They told me about it before I found it and are paying for the repair
Decided to only be a 3-cylinder as the right-side (1 & 4) coil pack s*** the bed on cyl 1

Poor baby... still need to install my new brakes and get a new exhaust mani ordered. Gotta get that girl back to top condition...
