What have you done to your MSP today?

yea theres a shield over the bulbs to control the light. i was just saying color temps have been discussed thousands of times, but nothin offensive.

Good call. Perhaps I should browse the site (or the MSP lighting section) before I go asking dumb questions that there's clearly an answer for already. (google)

However, it would be nice to get ideas using other folks being pulled over by cops as an example. Anyhow. I'll do some research and sorry for post whoring.

yeah theres a shield over the bottom half of the bulb... it doesn't really help with cutoff, but it does reduce glare for oncoming drivers. A common practice is to also cover the hole in the shield (usually a smallish squarish hole directly under the bulb) in aluminum foil as this further cuts down glare.

Yeah, covering that hole makes a difference, OR you could just go p5 lights, they have the best cut off (thumb)

drove mine today after its been sitting for aabout 2 weeks. something wrong with the boost gauge, its being erratic and not reading boost at all. car seems to be running fine. this is a prosport electronic gauge

oh yea and the doctor told me i have a bad case of strep throat. so yea great day

Mine will be up on jack stands yet again tonight. I need to take the driver's side rear wheel off so I can sand down the rust spot and treat it. Then I need to drill out the passenger side bottom sway bar bracket nut. The threads on the nut stripped out and I was able to get a thinner bolt through it to attach the bracket, but that bolt is moving around and making noise. So now I have to drill the nut out, put a thicker bolt though, and hope that holds up. If that doesn't work, I might order a new rear crossmember from Mazda.

Run a bolt from inside the xmember through the bracket with a lock washer/ nut on the outside, I have 3 of my 4 bracket attachments that way. If it is torqued down you shouldn't have troubles with it moving.

I did do that, only the other way around. Nut + washer inside the crossmember, bolt + washer + lock washer through the bracket. It's clinking right now when I go over bumps. Might be something else, but I'm betting it's that. I'm just going to drill the crap out and see where that leads me. New crossmember isn't too pricey if I end up buying a new one.

I guess the difference is on all of mine the inner bolt of the xmember didn't strip out they just completely snapped out of the welds so I was just left with the hole in the xmember and could use a larger diameter bolt.

HID's are currently being sought. I have a place to get them I am just wondering on what temp I want and whether I need bi-xenon or regular. I was told normal HID's will make me sans high beams since I have a single headlight housing. Is this correct? Also, would bi-xenon bulbs eliminate this? Lastly, what's a good temp for not attracting cops but giving me that HID look?

I have the bixenons however the hibeams really arent all that great, they just light up the tree tops cause all it does is just move the bulb. i got them cause of inspections where i used to live. i got the 5k bulbs, they are a nice white and give off great light and arent blue at all so the cops shouldnt be attracted unless they know about HID's cause any car that doesnt come with them factory is illegal.

the nut on mine came off its welds so i just put the bolt in the crossmember then the nut on the outside, so i kinda reversed it. u can fit a socket and wratchet in the hole next to the bolt hole so itll hold the bolt while u tighten it, hasnt come off for me.

FYI all....

I got tired of looking for the link to the Online Service Manual whenever I needed it (I'm sure you were too) So I've created a stickied thread in the Main section for all 3rd Gen models (P5/MSP/MP3 included) in order to ease all in finding it.

Just click on the main section for your model and you will see my thread at the top of the stickied threads.

That is all :p
