What have you done to your MSP today?

today i tried to make a list of things i want to do for maintenance. i bought the car with 58k miles and now have 74k and i havent replaced anything besides belts, sparkplugs, brakes, and oil changes.

i want to replace my tranny fluid. what does you guys recommend?

also does anyone know how i can find the plastic fender guard that goes under the front bumper on both sides? i know about onlinemazdaparts.com but i cant find the damn thing cause theres no pics lol

I have syn fluid in my trans and it made no difference to me... however some say the syncromesh stuff is kick ass! I might do that later on down the road when i get closer to 25k on this fluid now.

Also if your car is like mine (76k on it) you might want to into sway bar bushings. I need to replace both front and rear sway bar bushings, and its also time to change out the timimg belt!

when i went to the local mazda dealer before my accident, i didn't have those either...and they told me it only came with the bumper as a package. granted the parts guy there is as dumb as a brick, so who knows. (hand)

I need to pick up a passenger fender liner... previous owner wrecked the msp and put a reg pro splash liner in(no it doesnt fit worth a damn lol). However this isnt high on my things to do right now.

i had to pick up a driverside splach gaurd when i first bought the msp because the last owner did quite a hack job on it to open it up under the CAI

i paid around 145-165 cant remember exacty but it wasnt that cheap

i know because that was the first one the ordered me and it was about 70 and i had to go back and put emphasis on the word MAZDASPEED when i told him the vehicle and highlighted the 8th digit of my vin, i even highlighted it and circled it for him =]

this is why I come armed with part numbers at every possible opportunity. whenever possible I don't even give the application, just the part number. lol

i try to do the same as well whenever possible but it was sort of a impulse thing, driving by the dealer on a rainy day dodging puddles thinking i cant take it any moree (bang)

haha

Yeah... like when you go to Autozone or Advanced. I go to pick up something rather generic having nothing to do with my engine or anything. "Is this the turbo or not?" "It's the doesn't ******* matter bro, all I need is the headlight chief."

lol try going to napa... they swear up and down that my car has an aftermarket turbo kit.

anyone ever hear this

i had gone to autozone for a set of front and rear brake pads for the speed, the fronts were correct but rears werent so i went back and exchanged them and they were the same wrong set, but still the ones that were called for by their parts system

so the manager took the time to help me out and we discovered that the correct pads for my car were the rear pads for a mx6 or 5 i dont remember which of the same year

weird huh?

yes.. the MSP has larger brakes then the orig pro. It has 6 brakes on it. I got the rear pads for a 6 for mine.

Edit: mazda isnt going to design a hole new brake system for 1 year for a car so they share parts across platforms.

i have proof that it would take a lot of water to suck up into the CAI to really screw up your engine. i went without a front bumper for over a week, with my CAI just chillin out in the open, through pouring rain, puddles, and i think even a little bit of snow. not a single problem.
