What have you done to your MSP today?

lol go to your local radio store, and ask them if they have them... and if theyll pop yours out for you...

Yeah, they're rusted but not too bad & its just from car washes really cause the water sits in them and is really hard to get to.

It's cool, I'm gonna be getting some rays for my new extended lugs anyways :)

So the rays will work with my stock wheels?

well after another 20 minutes or so of messing around with my dad, we cannot get the mother out. the right side just will not budge AT ALL. so it's time for plan b. we're taking it to the local audio shop in carlisle so they can do it for us lol. i know we're taking the easy way out, but you guys would have to try it to understand that it just will not move. i'll make an appointment tomorrow and keep you guys posted.

in the mean time...(fu) stock head unit.

What are you using to get it out with if you don't have keys?

i'm sorry i didn't really answer his question well. i meant i don't have the keys that are specifically for kenwood...because the 03.5's don't have the kenwood units, so there's no need for them. I do however have a pair of din removal tools that came with the new pioneer unit from crutchfield. they only gave me 1 pair, but there's no real need for another pair since we can pry the left side out without the need of removal tools. a simple butter knife does the trick, or we can just yank it out with our hands since I took out the cassette delete. sadly i realized on the drive home tonight that we must have pulled the left side out too far this time because the radio won't light up or turn on. :( so i'm without a radio for now.

total for the install, about 4 hours... with just hand tools.

hey thats about how long it took me to get the motor out... we had to keep taking breaks... and we ran out of beer... Idk what it is but I am such a better wrench man with large quantities of boose in my system... I dont break as much stuff...

With out the boose I ended up breaking so far; Hub nut, CV boot, the Heat shield on the J-pipe, an Intake bolt, and I think thats it... these cars are delicate little bastards arent they...

And I want to know who designed these tranny's seriously... 3 large bolts, and like 5 smaller ones... what happend to the good ol' days of all the bolts to a specific part being all the same size...

Nice work! I was workin solo, cept for probably a total of about 5 mins when I called my dad in to help muscle stuff around (to get a 2" hump coupler onto 2.5" pipe to adapt to the turbo, and a couple other things), and about 5 mins with the gf pitching in... all in all it wasn't a terrible job, lotta finesse and creative problem solving to get from A to B... trimmed one of the rad fan supports, bent the Power Stearing lines, cut a hole in the splash shield, and bent back a piece of the frame behind the driver's side fog light area.. its tight, but it all fit in there by the skin of my hands (which I'm now missing more than a little of)... lol. Definitely happy with the results. I put the lower grill back in so other than the blue couplers, the install is pretty stealth.

nice work man, I'm just glad you wont be harrased to get it one, now they can switch to the finaly your done herasment lol

Bought an air powered grease gun: Ampro AR3710. Greased up and installed my new rear sway bushings with synthetic grease. Unfortunately nut welded to the underside of the cross member stripped out thanks to rust. I had to go with a smaller diameter stainless steel bolt that went through the nut. After the next autocross event I'm going to drill out the nut so I can use a larger diameter stainless bolt.

took down a Dodge 3500 on my way to worked... had to have been chipped, as there was a massive cloud of smoke... I shouldn't have done it... but with the FMIC on I had to see what she had.. I'm happy.

changed the gasket between my turbo and my thunder mani....definitley difficult to get the back two bolts! But she's running great!

dropped msp off to have new front rotors installed and to see if I need a new radiator
