What have you done to your MSP today?

I went to get gas and while i was filling up i popped the hood and i find my oil cap popped off at some point and i have oil all over my new shiney hard pipes and everything else. that sucks... anyone know a good cleaner i can use to clean all this crap off?

Gunk engine degreaser from any auto parts store and a quality pressure washer will do just the trick you need.

picked up my wheels 2day, sorry for the bad pic
took it with my blackberry

Did you get them powder coated? What color is that sorry its hard to tell with the pic, is it a gunmetal color? How much did the shop charge you?

oh yeah guess i should have mentioned that too

i got them powderocated gloss black (80% gloss) at a local shop and it was only 70 a wheel start to finish which included cleaning up alot of curb rash from the previous owner and took about 2 and a half weeks

im goin to borrow my dads camera this weekend to get some good pics it better lighting

blacked out my side turn signals with VHT niteshades. repainted the top part of the stock grill black. going to go to the junkyard and pick up some stock tails and black those out as well. black altezza tail lights will be for sale soon!

my check engine light is back...i forget the exact code, but the tech said the warmup cat is below threshold. and since my exhaust is a POS i'm pretty sure they took off the first cat...idiots. but what confuses me is that i've had this car since august of '08 and never threw a CEL before. (hmm)

might it be the warmup circuit of the O2 sensor? if I remember correctly, we have 2 cats, with an O2 before the first, and after the 2nd... (don't quote me...) lol

^^quoted you...haha

yea we do have 2 cats (well i don't) but i thought we just had one on the exhaust mani and one in the actual exhaust?

no, the cat on the exhaust mani is a N/A thing... our turbo is in the same location as the cat you're thinkin of... we have 2 on the midpipe.

edit, saw that coming....

X2 on the quoting

But your correct two cats in the mid pipe however the first 02 is in the manifold the second is after the FIRST cat.

Ricktalife: I highly doubt they removed your cat they would have to have cut it out unless an aftermarket downpipe has been installed. This kind of code will just show up without any sort of warning or any drawbacks. The expensive and "green" solution is to replace your cats...the cheap solution is to either clear the code and hope it stays off or do the sparkplug non fouler trick to keep the light off cats or not.

the exact location of the 2nd O2 was the part I was unsure of... thanks for clarifying!

I have the exact same CEL code. The person who works on my car suggested that perhaps the second O2 sensor has too much buildup on it and is not picking up readings correctly. I am going to remove my second O2 sensor and spray it thoroughly with MAF cleaner that I picked up and gently cleaning it with a brush. I'll pop it back in and see if that works.

i honestly don't know what kind of catastrophe happened to create my exhaust but it's a real POS and they even did a bad job welding on a muffler (i think it's a magnaflow). but anyway, i'm getting a GHL very soon so if that doesn't cure it i'll try fooling with the 02 sensors as mentioned below.

i'll keep that in mind. let me know how it goes.
