What have you done to your MSP today?

Im at 990 miles. I got it about 2-3 weeks ago, im waiting for 10 more miles and ima push every gear, i never really felt it i was just trying to break it in.....thats about it. ohh and im looking online for a turbo timer, because this morning i smashed to work and when i got to the parking lot i was waiting for about a min but i wasnt to sure if it was enough cool down time

i just count to 30 while it's idling...lame i know.(pow)

So I finally got the P5 back with the new FMIC setup. Everything looks good - I just wish the car ran as well as it looks. For some reason my stumbling idle is back even though the fuel system wasn't touched and I now have massive turkey. I didn't think that was possible with a BOV. The shop put the BOV only about 6 inches in front of the MAF despite what I told them but I can't see that causing the idle problem. I think I need to put some washers in the BOV to stop the turkey (and shorten the vacuum line and get a dedicated source). Will the extra washers stop the turkey and perhaps fix the idle?

wouldn't count on it fixing the idle... but adjusting the BOV should help the turkey..

yes turkey is possibly with anything if its not adjusted right. Bov/Bpv is only what it does with the air. You have to properly adjust the bov so it can react quickly enough to discharge the air before it backfeeds into the turbo and creates compressor surge

finally got my mid-pipe from protegegarage.com. But for some reason i feel like its not the one for the msp but for the regular protege. I'm gonna get under my MSp tomorrow after work and have a looksy.

Argh, then I have no idea why my idle is messed up! It's getting better, I think but it goes real lean every now and then. It's almost like the stumbling occurs when the fans kick on/off. I just don't get it - the idle was fine before the FMIC and now it isn't afterwards. The last time my idle crapped out like this it was because of a botched fuel rail install but once I fixed that everything was fine.

Sounds like it might be a vac leak...

Possibly but only post-MAF vacuum leaks would lead to a problem like this so I'm limited to only the vacuum connections on the IM as I have a relocated MAF. The thing is, no vacuum lines were really changed - only one was moved to accomodate the BOV. Tonight I'll check all the lines and couplers behind the MAF but I doubt I'll find anything. It's just like before though; my idle is fine for about two minutes with perfect AFRs and then it will just hiccup, go lean and then return normal after a few seconds. Wouldn't a vacuum leak be a constant lean condition?
