What have you done to your MSP today?

hopefully going to install my exhaust tonight! i'll do my best to get some pictures either before/during/after the install. only tricky part is i'll be on the clock at the same time so i'll have to avoid the managers lol.

Well, just checked for shaft play.....test came back negative. (2thumbs) Then blew into the wga again and seems solid. So I think last time I blew into it, the hoses must have been loose or something. Then took it out for another spin and still have some hesitation/sputtering issues. Plus the seals appear to be pretty close to being done on the turbo. Nasty oil buildup all over the line going to the oil pan, as well as the bottom of the turbo. Rebuild coming soon I suppose. So I'm guessing my hesitation/sputtering could be boost leak in the form of a cracked mani maybe? Would make sense considering it only does it while in boost. I'll probably start a problem thread later after I check the mani.

Today is a historical day for me, for the first time since having my license i have actually hit the oil change date before the mileage!

My new stock bushings arrived Friday. I should be getting them put in this weekend with some nice Mobil 1 synthetic grease.

You guys are too picky about your oil changes. I do mine twice a year: before (end of April) and after (beginning of October) auto-x season. I check it every so often to make sure the level doesn't change. Over 50000 miles on this schedule and I haven't had any issues.

if you bought it new, this works out to about 3500 miles between changes... so, you're basically just scheduling differently, but it works out about the same.

No, I got the car with 28k on it and it's a 03.5, purchased in November 2003 by the original owner. I think my schedule has worked out to be about 6000 between changes, which is fine since it's all synthetic oil. I think Mobil 1 is rated at over 7000 miles.

How are things out in Waukesha? I used to live in Muskego, then in Glendale way back. Graduated from Nicolet High School.

The leaking oil return line is common just get a new o ring and gasket from mazda they are a couple of bucks. The o ring tends to turn into a hard plastic due to the heat.

Also cracked manifolds are also a common thing on msp's your not going to hurt a whole lot unless the crack is big but the sound sucks.

Well that's good to know. Thanks! I'm actually hoping my mani is cracked, so I can finally come up with a solution. I've been trying to figure out this problem for a while now.

well I thought I was going to order brake pads today but Jeff @ tripoint hasnt responded to my email.

Serious? I don't even let my wife's car go that long. She's got a 98 Civic using regular oil. Longest she's gone since I've been around was 7K.
