What have you done to your MSP today?

^^^ LOL, I do that with the radio surround all the time. I didn't know you still drove it?

The Evo has a transmission issue right now so I've been driving the MSP lately. Also I don't seem to be getting much attention on autotrader so I figure driving it around with a for sale sign is better advertisement. I've missed it but my God is it slow.

The CM FX400 stage 4 is now in the car and I must say it Rocks!! I had my Spec Flywheel (6.8lbs.) resurfaced within the spec that clutchmaster provided before installation.
Ok, so I've never driven a 4-puck ceramic clutch before and this thing grabs so quick its amazing. Clutch feel is very light, sensitive and quick. So far, I've only driven about 20 miles and haven't heard any weird noises that are usually associated with a 4-puck clutch i.e. clutch chatter. Oh yea it revs sooo quick which makes rev matching so nice <:)>

Well yeah, it's 5 years old and technology has come a way in the Mitsu world. Plus, the Evo is a turbo AWD, like the MSP should've been.

I looked at your ad today on autotrader. It looks good man, very clean. I was looking at it because its basically the same setup i had. except mine is a steedspeed mani and not the thunder. I'm running the afc and not the mpi.

Yeah, just checked out the ride on AT, and I gotta say man, nice mods but I don't know how much someone wants a modded car. Asking price is high for a 5 year old car. It's nice though no doubt. Not crazy 'bout the tail lights either. Clean car. I'd probably take it if I didn't have a Spicy already and if I lived up there.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The paint I used on the tails fades after awhile even after redoing them and using a ton of clear. If I don't sell it soon I'll prolly pick up some stock Protege tail lights (hate the pink tint on the MSP tails).

When I was selling it for $15k awhile ago I had 2 people that were highly interested but then couldn't come up with the money. So I don't think just under $14k is unreasonable. I'm in no big rush to sell it, and I've got the 'run til it sells' ad on AT so I'll just let it take it's course.

received a couple of parts today and have some others i will be installing.

turbolife fmic kit... the core is HUGE!!

ATP 11-12 psi wastegate actuator

SPAL high performance curved blade and medium performance straight blade 12 inch fans

NSN transmission cooler kit

P1010225.jpg

NSN intake manifold thermal spacer

And a few fuel upgrades to make use of the perrin fuel rail... Aeromotive adjustable FPR, Walbro fuel pump, RC engineering injectors, and RC conversion connectors

I started tearing down the car today. Now that i have the intercooler kit, i can start putting on all of these other mods. It was definitely worth the wait.

Started tearing down the car today. It is nice to finally have the new intercooler kit!

you have quite a bit of mods for no engine management. have you considered that the ecu is having trouble with your mods and an ems could possibly be the solution?

having the upgraded turbo is definitely grounds for ems (your ecu is probably having huge issues with that).

yea, I'm about to the get ftc, but I'm just waiting on a few more paychecks. So before the year is up, I'll have it on and 9-11psi.

Very nice Toys you got there buddy... i love toys, you are coming up with a nice very nice setup, share pictures when evertything is installed.

I'm jealous of everyone getting Turbolife's intercooler now. Wish I could have paid this much back when I got my Perrin.

Be careful with AT, they screwed me when I was selling my Tacoma. Good luck with the car. Like I said, I'd have bought it if I didn't have my Spicy.

Did a compression test on the P5 today to see if anything could indicate my ever present oil burning issue. Tested each cylinder twice in a row with the following results:

1: 205 psi, 203 psi
2: 195 psi, 201 psi
3: 205 psi, 205 psi
4: 210 psi, 210 psi

The numbers seem a little high compared to the FSM's optimum of 170 psi but they're all really close and definitely within acceptable tolerances...

Also, installed the Perrin fuel rail today! I decided to do this because the compression check came out ok and I had already done some of the required prep with the compression test. The install was actually a lot easier than I had thought. The car started right up and of course the idle was all wonky because I had the fuse pulled but after driving a little everything seemed to smooth out. Just a couple of observations: at idle the car will occasionally stumble and the AFRs will go lean and then slowly creep back down to around 15:1, when I first push in the clutch when I'm coming to a stop the AFRs go kind of rich (13:1) and then creep all the way upwards of 16:1 and beyond before settling around 15:1 occasionally stumbling as mentioned before. Aside from those few things which I'm hoping are results of the car trying to learn this new setup everything went great, no leaks and the rail looks great (the clearance with the 626 IM is SOOO close!). Man, I need a new tune now, she's really rich at WOT.

Sorry, no pics yet. The engine bay is very, very dirty.
