What have you done to your MSP today?

Hit fuel cut last night in the cool weather.. looks like I am wiring in the SSAFC this weekend..

Any tips or anything I should keep in mind for this install?

It's getting there... few more hours of work left.

Im seriously considering pulling the awr rear mount out for my dd. Going back to silicon filled rear mount with engine damper. Id sell my awr if someone wanted one.

Its just too rough for cruising my daily rounds. The p5 was much nicer for all this. Had boost and was lowered but didnt rattle everywhere and sound like a peice of s***. Would also be nice to not have to yell at highway speed lol. Or crank the stereo to 30.
Gonna replace my intercooler setup shortly with more efficient core and piping. Also deleting vta hks valve for a more reasonable greddy recirc. It has never needed to be loud to attract attention.

Oh come on! I love having to yell on the highway and that cringe you get when you're worried about waking up the neighbours with loud exhaust at 430 in the morning.

Nice to know someone else is still rocking this pos phone
I ******' love my phone. I've had it for 3 years and it's never left it's case and has always had a screen protector on it, so it's in good shape.

Waiting on a few small parts to finish it up. Spent some time last night cleaning up the engine bay- reloomed the harness, rerouted it and other lines/hoses too.

I'm waiting on two parts to finish the car! They are both showing to be out for delivery for this afternoon. Unfortunately my service writer won't be working this Saturday meaning that I have to and it's also supposed to rain all weekend. Think I'll get the car mobile tonight, drive it into the shop tomorrow morning and finish it up here. It's great to know I'll be driving the 'speed again soon!

What duro is the AWR? I need a solid rear MM, my medieval mount was broken in two pieces when I removed it last week

I had the SU mounts it felt like the engine was welded in lol. If you don't like vibration then probably don't get those. I ended up going with AWR full set in my MSP in 70A and there is little to no vibration they actually feel great. In my MP3 I have the full medieval set in 88A (or is it 90? I cant remember) and while definitely stiff and solid its not ridiculously shaky or noisy in the cabin at all. When people have issues with vibration etc. I think it is because they only change one mount but you have to change all four in the same way to have the proper balance well at least that's what Ive experienced and ive owned three proteges all have/had mount replacements.

The SU mounts are nice but they are too proud of them, ~$120 IIRC. Would rather spend ~$90 on an AWR, especially since it's the rear and won't be visible

The SU mounts are better than the AWR and a little less vibrations.

The first time I installed the Su mounts I don't think I was bolted down solidly. Because there's a lot of vibration especially in my window. But after I'd had the engine out and back in the vibration wasn't there. They are Rock Solid though.

I've got three (3) of the four (4) mounts and while there is a vibration, it's only ever annoying in cold ambient temperatures.

I'm 99% complete with the car, only having small details to finish just to find out the GT28R I bought locally is pushing oil, so there's that. I've been talking with Turbo Lab and they can rebuild Garrett ball-bearing turbos.

I'm curious how much it would be to rebuild and balance a BB turbo, have at least 2 bad turbos sitting around that I would like to use

I was talking with Chris about this earlier. They charge $225, and rebuild the bearing cage/rollers/seal with new parts - 2 year warranty. $550 for a new CHRA.

I think when i get a tune on the car it will be better. But on the hunt for a cheap dd so i can take msp apart again. Rattles everywhere.
Kinda on the hunt for a small truck but who knows what ill end up with.

It's all dependent on the condition- the $225 was quoted to me based solely on the information I gave him. He is currently waiting on the press-in restrictor pins for the Garrett ball-bearing turbos and he said it'll be weeks before he sees them, but that they are completely capable of rebuilding them assuming it's rebuildable.

a lot of guys will be rebuilding stock turbos that works out

Like I said, I've got two sitting around that need a rebuild and would probably do the same with my other two so there is definitely a market to rebuild these BB Garretts.

#1289 went boom. Spun bearing on Cyl 1. Don't know if I'm gonna get a 100K junkyard motor or just build my current block. Lots of thinking to do
