What have you done to your MSP today?

First autocross since last year in around this time on sunday. One more autocross before the season is over. Then I will be pulling the engine to part it out and use those funds to hopefully fuel my evo4 swap. Long road ahead. (drive2)

Anyone know if these NAPA bushings are what I need for the shifter? Dealer website returns nothing when you search "shifter bushings". My shifter is vibrating and it goes away when you push the shifter to the right. All of the shift rod linkage below is tight so its got to be the little bushings inside the shifter.

Thanks for that info. I wound up driving to the dealer and picked up two bushings for $9. Napa did not have any in stock.

Should have got twm bushings or something. My kartboys made a huge difference.

By the end of the year I hope to have my GT28R(S), FTC, clutch set and tires.

And a nice exhaust manifold wouldn't hurt either.

for the amount of money an ftc sets you back, *north of $300?* a platinum sprint 500 or megasquirt isn't too far off. as for manifold, just go ahead and order a pope one while its on sale. it will be over $600 if you dont buy it on special.

im almost tempted to take the 2554r off the msp and track down a set of cheapy ebay headers for the kl and boost the k8 lol. not high boost, maybe 10-12psi at most but just enough to get a little more pep out of it. apparently i can get a KF from toronto jdm for $299 so if i were to blow up the k8. who cares lol.

people are free to their opinion about the length of time this project has taken, or his ability to keep in touch. these are valid points so i wont detract from them. unfortunately, most of us who got in on the presale and predesign really have no option but to wait lol. we have long LONG forfeited our paypal rights lol.
id put a deposit down for sure, but don't pay the full price until the 30 manifolds arrive. from what iv'e read around here, he has been good about getting the downpipes out of his shop in a timely manner so i assume when he finally gets the manifolds in hand, it should be smooth.
Id be curious to know if the changes the foundry made to the cad file to make it "Stronger" actually fubared the flange.. There probably isnt any way to prove it, but id trust pope to be able to accurately replicate the flange when he has the gaskets right in front of him lol. why he had to pay to fix it.. dunno. seems like an awful long time to keep any customer waiting, but what do i know.

i paid, i know ill get a manifold EVENTUALLY. being upset about it wont accomplish anything.
i know when it finally does show up though, its gonna be fricken sweet. easily outlast the car.

It comes with being part of a very small market. I'm still getting use to this particular aspect of the msp and have in fact been very fortunate in some regards (steedspeed mani and mam mani owner) in others not so lucky.

The FTC can be had for $300-400 used, can be installed in 30 minutes and I've been using the R4 program for 4 years now, so it's a piece of cake, whereas the Megasquirt or Haltech both are significantly more as well as being significantly more involved in installation. While I understand that it's more difficult to install because it's a standalone and can control significantly more, I just can't see myself going with that kind of money. The Haltech is still $1000 new and $700-800 used. The MS requires that I fully assemble it. I'm done with making power, so I think that a GT28 at 16psi with the FTC is fine. I may not even go FTC and return back to an AFC. Who knows. Time will tell. I also need a real manifold. In the next few months, it'll be getting these larger issues taken care of like the turbo, engine management, tires and clutch. If I got a deal on an LSD, I'd also pick one up.

In this order:
- GT28
- Engine management
- Manifold
- Tires
- Clutch
- LSD

I hope to have all these replaced by the end of January.

It's your money.

I'd personally build a strong trans and get a proper ems. Ssftc is still a bandaid fix that only works in boost. Full ems will give you much more control of a built.engine and larger turbo your planning to feed it with.

Totally understandable... Though, it's been brought to my attention that Jason Naoto is running the FTC on his GT2871 equipped car at 25+psi. I understand he's also running water/methanol injection as well as a J&S. I passed on a J&S from KnoxMSP and I wish I hadn't. I run my target AFRs up to the 22.04psi that I've seen, so I can only imagine that another 4-5psi will not take me out of my own safe range and into widely considered "danger to manifold" levels. Plus, I'll be able to alter timing. Ultimately, the car is a toy and it's not that big of a deal to leave it sitting whilst I scavenge parts. I'd like to pick up a standalone, but it's one of those things where I'll find a hell of a deal and grab it up. Plus I am not going down the transmission internals road. I drew my line at that a long time ago. Again, I'm playing it all by ear, so who knows.

And apparently the FTC might have a 2.5 bar map sensor. I've sent an email to Split Second to find out for sure.

This forum is so slow these days. I remember when it could grow 3 or 4 pages a day (not really that active when comparing to other forums either), but now you're lucky to get 3-4 post a day...

if it was a nicer car im sure it would be.. wasnt exactly cheap for its time and it had no really nice options. id almost rather a p5/esgt with the mps treatment and no bright hard to match paint... but.. i guess the yellow grew on it me. glad i didnt buy orange lol.

i saw one for sale yesterday when picking up a $40 muffler for my mx3.. spicy.. mirror tint windows.. two tone orange/black with a wingswest kit on it.. not the nicest wheels.. but meh. it had a upgraded turbo and other mods. he wanted 5500cdn for it, and it almost grab it for the parts value.. couldnt really be braught to drive a two tone import though lol. even if i originally wanted a spicy..
