What have you done to your MSP today?

wow. thats a lot. find a used head and slap that bad boy on yourself. while your at it throw your dp on ;)

I got a head I need to send down to the machine shop. If all goes well then it will be going on with the pep dp and 626 IM.

doesn't make sense directly... did they give you any more info?

that does not make sense. however, it does kinda remind me of the intake manifold flapper issue that dub had on his protege.

but then again, if some s***'s jacked in the head, i suppose it could be bad.

How does it remind you of the intake flapper thing? I did have a p2006 code a while back. I just disconnected/capped the lines.

hey guys, my brother's msp has been acting up as usual, and he had his alternator belt shredded 2 weeks ago when driving back from school, he was able to make it home, but the coolant got so hot that the stock coolant reservoir literally blew apart, he was really lucky to not destroy the engine, he was so use to having small CEL codes from the larger injectors the last year that he thought it was something like that (I had already fixed everything else)

but anyways my point is that I replaced the alternator and ps pulley belts last week and all the pulleys spun fine, and it turns out it had been so bad and squealing originally because the mechanics that had swapped the engine had put the tensioner nut thing for the alternator belt in wrong, and when it was tight, it just stripped the locking bolt and bent the tensioner bolt, I had my old msp's alternator and stuff around so it is all good now..

NOW the problem is when he was driving around yesterday and today the coolant all of a sudden starts boiling and the temp. gauge shoots up, it has been fine for a week driving it, it is really hot out (well for CT.. it's about 97 today) but it shouldn't be doing that, there are NO CELs, the car seems to be running fine.. the belts are good and everything, there is enough coolant in there, (it was low when I just checked it last but there was still a little in the overflow tank, I think it was low because of it getting so hot and boiling out).... but does anyone have any idea where I should be looking for problems of why this is happening?? he has a full sized radiator and everything, and I don't see any leaks at all anywhere.. so not sure what the hell is going on, I had this car finally working great.. and then this s*** happens

End link tabs. Though I was considering the BC RMs, but I am very hard on my car, and auto-x it on race tires regularly, so I'm just kind of scared off by the initial shotty build quality.

I run BC's on my MSP @ Mid-O, VIR, Watkins Glen and other tracks, not one issue. I run stiffer srpings, use the curbing where necessasry. If they can stand up to not only to me driving the car, but my runs it well in a different class. Had them for over 2 years now!

Last night I took the speed to her first meet after I installed my carbon hood and fixed a few leaks. Today I put inserts in my hood. Woop.

Go rent a presure tester and presure test the system... Also the T-stat could be going bad. I had one literally on the edge of failing for a week before it finally went. The stupid thing would only over heat when dogging it other then that was perfectly fine even in stop and go traffic.

Fixing the suspension again on my car tomorrow. That's what I get for running aggresive endlink location, sway bar, and trailing arms. Minor price to pay for having handles on and off the track :)
