What have you done to your MSP today?

the bov responds to overboost on its vacuume line by opening the valve to release boost from the charge pipes. it has to do this because when you close the throttle (for instance to shift) the turbo is still pushing air. Without a BOV/BPV that air would have no where to go.

on rally cars where turbo lag is more of a concern than turbo longevity, they do NOT run a BOV of any type. they just swap out the turbo when it dies instead.

i just cleaned some birdcrap off of my msp. those dang birds sure do love shitting on it

position it failed in would be irrelivant. it would be exactly what failed that would matter. if something in the mechanism that opens (say the vacuum port) it failed, you get spike, if something in the mechansim that hold it closed normally (ex: spring) failed, then you get underboost and a very unhappy turbo.

you realize you are saying the same thing as me right... BPV stays closed = compressor surge, open = leak.

well I decided to do some upgrading to the MSP before I officially take her out for spring:
adding all this over the weekend:

nicccee, i love my hoop dampers, they make it so much easier working on the car
well not that much easier but i like them holding the hood up more then a little metal rod lol

Anybody know where is the best place to get couplers and T-bolt clamps? I think I should get a reducer coupler for the hotpipe to turbo coupler. What size would that be?

Beings that we are on couplers, anyone know the proper size of the couplers I need to get for a perrin/turbolife fmic? I was poking my head under the car today and noticed that whoever did my fmic install did a shotty job at best... stupid core support appears to be cutting into the couplers.

turbolife cold pipe is 2.5" I know because I have one hacked up for an intake and half my cold pipe, but I think the hot pipe is different, so I won't venture a guess.

Well I just finished moving the Aux input wire for the SSAFC to read my wideband. I had it connected to the ECU harness because I'm a dumbass so I moved it to the 02 sensor wire on my wideband. Started it up and opened the real time function on the R4 software. The readings were a bit leaner than the gauge displays but I was happy to be getting a reading at all. Then of course I noticed my ABS and E-Brake lights won't go off. Checked the manual and all it tells me is to take it to the dealer ASAP.

****. My. Life.

An this is why I am having a tuner install and professionally tune my car when I get a SSAFC...

On a side note, I've been noticing a lot of people giving the MSP thumbs-up or making comments about it. Always feels amazing to have someone recognize it, especially if they are in another 'special' car. Today, while OTW to the CP-E dyno-day, a guy in a modded M3 pulled up next to me, and flashed a wave/thumbs up. And being the ONLY MSP at CP-E, it got a lot of attention.

To cap it all off... Today is my 1 year anniversary of owning it.

God I love this car...
