What have you done to your MS3 today?

Got some mscai dry filter cleaner today ($16.xx at dealer), 6qts of pp 5w30, 7qts of pp 5w20 (muh truck), 2 oil filters, and 2 cans of seafoam. Needless to say, its gonna be a nice busy weekend for me

im gonna do the induction seafoam on the Ms3, but im not sure if im gonna do it though induction on the truck yet (its only got about 16k miles). Eithr way, im expecting to have a smoke show because its been about 20k since i did it in the car

shall i record and post it up?

Perhaps, Rabbit. Perhaps.
But perhaps not too.
I'll just say that '57 was a good year for Chevy's and those that like them. :D

Oh, and more on the flathead thing... not that it has anything to do w/the MS3:
It's not working as an image so here's the URL

ok Rich, I think you got me beat. I'm 46.

BTW, I'm going to be in Austin this w/e (sunday). My niece's bd party at book people on 6th and lamar. Not sure if a meetup is possible, but would not rule it our. Maybe a texas Mazdas GTG at Snow's BBQ in Lexington would be cool.

I don't think there's anything going on this Sunday, though there is usually and end-of-the-month thing that rebel girl coordinates. I've never been though. Ironically, I just read that she's moving to Houston, so I don't know if she's put anything together this w/e or not?
*edit* I just checked and the last meet was Saturday, July 23rd downtown. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123800229-SA-SM-ATX-July-Meet!!

And as for me: The grand son has been here the entire month of July. Sunday we are taking him to the airport so he WILL finally go home. The month w/a lazy 14 yr old is almost over. YES!! Grandma has done a pretty god job of spoiling him... not that that's too hard. He just laps it up.
And he's talking about entering the military in a few years? He's going to have a very rude awakening, I'm afraid.

Sorry, but maybe we could meet up next time? I don't get to Houston very often at all. Twice in the last 15yrs to be exact. :D

^ Oh yea at the ripe age of 23. They are doing a ureteroscopic surgery and that involves going up through my gentlemens area. Definetly not looking forward to it.

Id say its better than passing them but i have no clue. I know my dads were too small to pass so he had surgery, but up to that point he was in agony

that was the first and only time i saw my dad cry

i had pain for a week but then it went away so i havent had any. The stone is 3.9mm and it just wont move, not because it is too big but i guess because it just doesnt want to.

... through my "gentlemens area." Definitely not looking forward to it.

I think we have a Top Gear fan here!!
And yes, I suspected as much. 'Sounds like you need to drink more fluids from now on... water in particular. The kind w/o the barley and hops in it. :D

And no I'm not a doctor, just the son of one. Good luck, Man!! 'Hope they knock you out for that one.

Maybe next Time Rich. No need to appologize for not getting here much, there's not much here. Well, maybe a lot of nothing.

I'm serious about setting something up for Snow's BBQ in Lexington. It's 18 miles N of Giddings, so fairly central for austin/s.a./dallas and houston. I'll put a feeler thread in the texas section.

Of yes big top gear fan, seen every episode, at least i like to think so. They will check my diet to see what caused it but my guess would be too much soda and no where near enough water. And yes they are knocking me out, no choice there, i would make them.

Picked up some new rubber for the MS3. Fierce Instinct ZR. I literally walked in to the tire shop and asked for the cheapest 215 45 18 they had.

Getting this thing ready to sell... kind of. You see, after I visited the tire shop I stopped by Mazda to get an update on the car, which has been there for a week, and to drop my new rubber/stock rims off.

The bill so far is $1200 for a new primary O2 sensor, belt tensioner replacement, sound deadening of all engine bay plastics and general diagnosis. Mazda now wants to tear the motor down for inspection to see why it's still rattling. The sound deadening of engine bay plastics was due to the mechanic not believing there was something wrong with the motor/auxiliary systems causing the rattle.

Ugh. The motor tear down better be covered by my extended warranty.

Again for the record, car is on the second motor with only 35,000km on it.

DANG!! What have you been doing to that car??

Nah, I'm kidding. It sounds like you got the proverbial lemon. That's terrible. For your sake I hope so too.

I have 37,500 on my car, and haven't been to the dealership once. No issues at all! I think I got one of the good ones! I do all the maintenance myself, and if I don't know how, I find out.
Next on the list, replace cabin air filter. - Not looking forward to it.

The motor was replace under warranty at 65,000km, the turbo was replaced under warranty two weeks after the motor, 2nd gear was replaced along with syncro's under warranty due to cold morning grinding (which didn't help).

The first time the motor went, it took Mazda two months to decide if they were going to warranty it or not.

Beyond the first summer owning this car (owned since new), I have not had this car for an entire summer as it has been in the shop every summer.

The worst part is, when the motor was replaced, it was a brand new long block. All Mazda did was swap the auxiliaries on the motor and bolt it in. There wasn't much that they could have done wrong.

This car is used as a daily driver. Most of the km's on it are highway as I used to drive 45 minutes to work everyday, cruise set at 110km/h. The car has never seen the track and has had no part in launching/drag racing. I punch it once in a while, as I'm sure everyone does, but never below 3000RPM as you can feel the car bog below that point anyways (not that anyone should have to consciously watch where they put their foot down in the power band when in an appropriate gear...).

All maintenance has been conducted at Mazda on schedule.

I have the 7 year, 160,000km warranty.

Same as before, I'm just pissed off with this car yet again and needed to vent. Sorry that you all were my release. :) Best of luck.
