What have you done to your MS3 today?

im really intrested in the bcs i just dont know!! i have never upgraded my suspension so i dont know what to expect or look for?

I bought them used of a local guy....I do believe they are the revised ones. They came with front camber adjustments

But for stock suspension, it isn't necessary right?

I'd imagine, with adjustable links, you could lengthen the links so there is no tension on the bar while the car is on the ground, this way it won't prematurely load the suspension right?

Spent most of last night installing a new front sway bar linkage (MOOG chassis) as getting the old one out was a b**** since the threads had stripped. After two hours and a lot of drilling I was finally successful. Since that was fixed I could finally drive the car a little harder after the BC install with no more clunking noises. Initial reactions are the BC coilovers are a little worse at handling impact harshness and vertical load...but that was to be expected. I left the settings "as is" out of the box and they ended up dropping the car around 1" or so. Reaction and on-center response are improved. Looking forward to trying them out at the next AutoX in 2 weeks.

Will probably re-weigh the car tonight to see how close I am to stock corner weights after the install. Alignment is also scheduled for this weekend.

SU boost tubes showed up today so I can put my car back together! Also AWR adjustable rear end links shipped today!

Do these adjustable links have the right thread diameter? I've read reviews on these links where people complain about having to buy spacers to properly fit the mounting holes on the RSB.

if you are referring to hebrew_hamr, just so you know, he has BC's. Wasnt sure, if you were or not. Plus, he auto-x's his car all the time, so he could probably benefit from the adjustable end links.

Well you're only preloading the bar if the two corners that are linked to it at are different static suspension "heights." When you corner weight a car, you use the coilver height adjusters to set the corner weights, which can lead to having one side slightly "higher" or "lower" than the other side. This puts tension on the swaybar, and ajustable links are needed to resolve that tension by lengthening or shortening the links on one side or the other to compensate.

Does that make sense the way I explained it?

Yes they do. The revised ones from AWR are pictured on their site. PG will get them for you too but they have the wrong picture up I believe.

Sort've.

I need to start learning this stuff more so I can understand it.

So would you recommend adjustable end links for a rsb? I know it's been heavily recommended for FSB's.

As far as I'm concerned, they are unnecessary on both ends unless you're going to install coilovers and corner weight your car.

This is as of Saturday... but better late than never! Picked up some new shoes, complete with curious george:

Got them locally for a steal. Going on probably early April.

Also snagged a full 7 piece set of that PG 'GTSPEC' style chassis bracing. Will be going on whenever I get a free moment and the motivation.

Adjusting the corner weights by messing with any sort of spring pre-load, and sway bars are springs, isn't a good idea. If a sway bar or coil spring is preloaded to bias one side or the other the car will handle differently when turning left vs right, which isn't good. Corner weights should be adjusted by wheel height only if you want to do things right.

Just my 2cents from setting up race cars.

little clean up and those wheels will look good! what are the specs? what size tires are you shooting for?
