What have you done to your MS3 today?

frankly, the smoking really doesn't get that bad on my car, and it doesnt bother me enough to make me switch oils. I'm running PP 5-30 full, and mine really only smokes on a cold start in cold weather.

Not changing it cuz of smoking. My car doesnt smoke. I am doing it because its a true sythetic. Really helps out with keeping fuel dilution down (for diesel trucks) cuz they have the same probelms. PP is also good stuff, has a lot of detergents in it. If your oil is dirty..that means its working.

is the shell rotella 5-40 good stuff? Im thinking of keeping my car for the long haul and I want to make sure that i'm using the right oil.

You can use PP or shell rotella. The Rotella is meant for heavy duty vehicles that see extreme temperatures. Since we are turbo'd, it wont hurt it only help it more. Fuel dilution is bad on this car. This car can break down regular oil pretty quickly. Plus a gal of it is only 20 bucks @ wallyworld and autozone. I recommend using Blackstone Labs to get an oil analysis kit to see how your oil is performing. They give you a lot of positive feedback.

cool, thanks!

suprisingly yes. It's pretty clean. but its only 1k into the interval over 3months. That stuff smells horrible. I am switching to Shell Rotella 5w40 here shortly. currently using Penzoil Platinum. Good stuff also.

Why are you going with a more viscous oil? It could screw up flows and pressures in the oiling system.

*deep breath*

CP-e Nano, Cp-e TIP, COBB DP, NGK step-colder plugs (gapped to .28), PTP HPFP internals, COBB AP with stage2 93 octane map installed....

It was a long day.

Pro Tune this Saturday.

make sure you break in those internals before the tune...

Ya im on mile 74 of the break in. Keeping the boost low, only been up to 5 psi so far. But i did slip up once and got a nice loud backfire, oopsie.
But i have to say, the throttle response is next to instantanious, and the turbo sounds like a jet engine! The exhaust note is exactly where i like it not too loud but throaty-er than stock.

I took it to a dealer today because my brake light went on the other day, so I read up about it, turns out it was the brake fluid, then few days later it went on again.

Turns out its the slave cylinder leaking. That's the second time in the 23k miles I had the car that the slave cylinder was faulty. No worries tho, with the mods I have the warranty still covered it.

I'm just stuck driving a chrysler mini van for the time being. sad.

ouch...any paint missing now that brake fluid was leaking? although it would probably only be limitted to the paint in the engine bay that only tom thumb would be able to see

Had the 235/40/18 nexen n3000 mounted on my stock wheels and installed with 5mm spacers, and then had an alignment. Haven't had the car aligned since I put the BC Coils on. I then dropped my 18x8.5 SVN's off at my brother's garage and he is going to be custom painting them with house of kolors custom paint :) Next month, I am ordering the 215/40/18 BF Goodrich KDW 2's to mount on them after the paint is done. Saturday I am doing the HD front lip/sealer, and installing my 6k hid fogs. I also ordered a 3inch in/out magnaflow wide open muffler to weld on my exhaust, and removed the can and re-weld on the racing beat dual tips. Comin together slowly but surely!

good deal! I want these too! Please post a link if you get a chance...If not I guess I can use google....(pissed)

Oh! and post pics when you put 'em in!
