What have you done to your MS3 today?

Does the stock BPV need any kind of maintenance? (lubing or something?) It's got almost 19K miles on it now.

Not that I know of. If it's holding boost and not leaking then there is no problem. If it's not functioning right then you simply replace it.

Holy crap... I think I've actually saved up enough money for my rims! I might pull the trigger on them soon:

I'm thinking about installing a new Triumph Thruxton, but I need to un-install my 2001 R6 race kit and have somebody take it off my hands first... hopefully that happens by spring.

Replaced battery with Duralast Gold. 8yr warranty FTW! +8 lbs extra over factory, for new battery FTL!

When my stock battery dies I'm going with a light weight battery. When I need new brake pads and rotors I'm getting the RR kit which is lighter. When my tires wear out I'm getting lighter wheels. Most of the mods I'v done so far have replaced heavier stock parts with lighter performance parts. I hope to continue to make my car lighter.

Detailed the interior and vacuum. Also did an oil change, lubricate BOV, clean/vacuum/wash my dryflow intake filter, traveled the universe and saved a planet (blah)

how often should i clean/lubricate the BPV? i have a forge and its been on for about 7-10k miles

I've done the same. I wonder how much my car weighs when I do put it in full auto-x prep.

16.5 lbs wheels and 20 lbs tires shave a ton of weight off each corner. Take out the spare tire and tools, floor mats, and glove box stuff. I bet it's closer to 100lbs of stuff by the time I'm done. I do want a new sway bar which would be hollow and lighter, a race seat, lighter battery, CF or fiberglass hood at some point.

And when I start getting really crazy I'll strip out the interior and add a roll cage haha.

It wouldnt hurt to do it every oil change. Use the Moble1 synthetic grease from autozone. Its a red grease that comes in a silver tube.

yea, i've done the same with lighter wheels. Gotta figure the stock CBE is heavier. And i drive dail without the spare tire and junk. get better MPG's that way and i dont driver far enough to where one of my friends cant go pick up some stuff from my house if i do a get a flat.

Found battery dead after not driving it for 2.5 weeks

Mine struggled with starting my car on Saturday after only a day of not driving. After it finally fired up, I drove the next 2 hours straight to give the alternator some time. Hasn't been a prob since. It was strange, because my amp and boost gauge are switched. Shouldn't be any draw.

i think it's the cold weather. when it snowed last weekend i didn't take the speed out for like 3 days, trucking the whole time. got in it that following monday and it struggled for a few cranks

but i don't ever remember having trouble starting up my old 07 mz3 when it was cold so it can't be mazda specific, must be the ms3.

i think i'd like to try optima for my next battery, always wanted one of those (late reply to the battery post last page)

My battery also died in my 07 MS3. The car itself starts great in even -40 C (no block heater), but the stock battery's are junk. I replaced mine with a redtop optima (34R) this year as my battery was stone dead and haven't had an issue since.
