What have you done to your MS3 today?

20 mins? haha.... If your not savy with working on your car and your first time doing it, may take up to 1.5 hrs. I did mine in 50mins

sorry i guess ive done it so many times for dealer trips its a cakewalk now....

remove IC cover
remove SRI
remove battery
disassemble battery tray & disconnect ecu
disconnect wires & hoses from stock TIP
remove stock TIP - observe how bad it is and proceed to mumble and curse mazda engineers
install new tip
reinstall everthing else in reverse order

one word of advice, be careful when removing ecu connections

Oh..its easier than that. Hardest parts is getting the Battery box out and the vac line off the WGA solenoid (careful not to break the nipple off)

More info here on the wastegate control solenoid nipple breaking off..

Tranny change again with that ford stuff. The friction modifier that the dealership added has made the shifts too stiff, especially in this cold weather and with the short shifter. You guys think that changing the fluid will get rid of most of it?

The short shifter plate adds stiffness and alot of people have not liked it and returned to stock.

I switched to the MT-90 first and it was an improvement over stock once the tranny warmed up but did not stop the cold morning 2nd gear grind.

I then switched to the Motorcraft Synthetic and it was an improvement over the MT-90 and the 2nd gear cold morning grind is no more.

Everyone should switch to the Ford Motorcraft Synthetic fluid. I purchased here.

I agree that this fluid is better than the MT90. I wish the dealership hadn't decided to add the friction modifier before asking me - they said they "went ahead and did it because it was only 10 dollars" - like i care about what it costs compared to what it does to my car ;[

Detailed the interior and vacuum. Also did an oil change, lubricate BOV, clean/vacuum/wash my dryflow intake filter, traveled the universe and saved a planet (blah)
