i thought for moment it looked like part of the drivers side motor mount but i cant tell what the tool is.
The fuel pump internals ? no, too dark to work on that.
Is the CP-e shirt a clue ?
i think you should let a couple others guess before you tell me its the muffler bearing.
And who is who in the picture please.
i suck at puzzles. haha

Changed the oil and drained my JBR OCC; really glad I got the OCC after seeing what came out. That was after about 4000 miles.

Is there any other cleaning product i can use for the mazdaspeed cai filter instead of getting the kit at the dealer? i assume its really some generic low sud soap or detergent

k/n. i have mazdaspeed cold air but i am running dry filter. was the mazdaspeeda wet fiter.
I think i have a k/n kit in a closet somewhere but the re oiling is the key with that unit.

The filter that came with it is a dry filter though. id love to change it to a conical k&n but i dont really have the cash for it right now. i do have a couple k&n kits laying around though, so ill try that sans oil at the end

oakland i am not sure that the dry filter are cleanable/reusable. Maybe a gentle blow from an air gun from inside out would be best 20psi or less. i could be wrong but i dont want you to mess up anything especially that maf sensor !! they are not cheap.
also do you use a MAF cleaner when you do filter maintenance ?

i have a 07 ms3 and am experiencing some problems not sure if turbo is ready to take a s*** or what i can not accelerate properly after shifting with out the car boosting like crazy i will shift in any gear and the psi will shoot straight up to 15 like if im flooring it and i barely press dowm on the gas any ideas what it might be

do you have an AP? if so check fuel pressure, has the car car had all its TSB done? check all boost clamps, intake clamps, recirc hose fittings. are you modded?? DP?

The mscai are cleanable, they are just not oil type like a k&n. the dealers (regular and mazdaspeed alike) sell the cleaning kits for like $20 or something. it has 2 bottles of solution, and you use both per cleaning

the directions are to fill a bucket with warm water to the height of the filters inlet, but not over. pour the solution in, set the filter in for like 10 minutes, then twist slightlyto agitate so dirt comes off. then you dump and repeat one more time

after that youre supposed to set the filter in the sun for an hour or so before running the engine. tonight i did kind of the same thing with the k&n cleaner, but i installed it after a few good shakes and wont be driving the car again till at least tomorrow morning so i should be fine

i clean the maf when i think about it or i sense my idle getting rougher. sometimes i even take the intercooler off and run coil cleaner through the fins. ill do both of those things next time

also STILL on the list is a flush of the power steering, coolant, and a new upper hose for the power steering (cracking at the edge where it dumps into the reservoir)

Welp, oil changed to Mobil 1 15w50. Put a line on the valve cover vent to T into my primary oil catch can lines. My OCC will need to be relocated so that hte lines go straight down to it.

BTW, 15w50 because built motor.

I'm not following you. Are you on snow tires or something? You're saying boost hits instantly with you barely touching the throttle?

Panasonic stock battery dying on me today. AutoZone said it is rated at around 250 cold cranking amps I belive. Three years of usage at 29000 on the odometer sounds about right? I replaced it with a Optima Battery 35 redtop with 3 year warranty.

yes it's acting retarded and I'm not on snow tires not sure what's wrong checke all hoses and clamps and don't have a AP to check out fuel pressure it's just boosting way to soon in any gear I shift as soon as I press the throttle it wants to take off and it's almost like its sputtering when it dumps

im still on my stock battery after 4 years and nearly 70k miles. I also had a tacoma that had the same original battery for about 5 years

its all in the way you treat it. it depends on how often it gets charged up through actual engine running, how often it is left to discharge, the environment it is in, how well the terminals are kept, etc

one of the first things i like to do for battery maintenance is buy one of those battery terminal kits with the washers and spray bottle. the washers have a special anti corrosive treatment infused so battery acid wont wick up the terminal, and the spray is also anti-corrosive so you protect the terminals and wire connectors

another trick i learned from my dad before even driving was to make sure that as many electrical components were turned off as possible to it was less strain for the battery during startup. it always killed me to ride with someone who started their car and the ac was at fuol blast, stereo on, headlights on, just a bunch of unnecessary stuff

if you dont start your car for more than mabye 4 days at a time id invest in a trickle charger. the longer the battery is left to dicharge the less life the plates within the battery will have

also, check under that battery cover every once in a while and just brush or blow the dirt off the top. a clean battery is a happy battery
