Is P2177 "too lean in idle bank #?" I've gotten that before when my type s shot its adjustment screw out the top of it due to stripped threads. So there was a gaping hole at the top of the bpv for a couple miles.
yea, more like "lean condition found off idle in bank 1" or something along those lines. but the more i read into the description of the dtc the more im thinking about taking a trip to the dealer to get it checked out
originally i thought it said it was lean in idle, but the manual says "off idle", which can mean any level of load. the weird thing is that the light went on during a very low percentage of load (only know because it was right when i started driving it and im very light on the throttle for the first 5 minutes of driving).
there are many possibilities for this code that i was putting off that i probably shouldn't. obviously any lean condition can mean numerous problems from either too much air or not enough fuel. it also says that it could have been a lean misfire, which wasn't going to be found from that little code-puller-thingy that autozone used.
i wouldn't be too worried if it was something like a random lean misfire (although that would make me more nervous), or if a speck of dust hit the MAF sensor and screwed it up for a split second and set it off. nor would i be worried if my LTFTs set the DTC, which is another possibility under this code. my guess would be that i went too easy on it during the last tank so when i decided to drive normally again the STFTs had to change rapidly and the LTFTs were playing catchup, or the computer was having trouble comprehending.
i would worry, however, if this is a sign that the fuel pump is beginning to fail or these possible misfires start happening more often. lean misfires are very NO-NO!
im asking santa for a dashhawk so maybe this will help me a little more with maintaining a good solid engine. i'd love to get a boost gauge too but santa can only work so many miracles
