What have you done to your MP3 today???

I will need the room here shortly. Just the trunk rusted out so I took it to an extreme. I was going to tuck it on the pass side but this frees up more trunk space.

v6 swap? that would be cool, ive always wanted to do that, or the awd swap from the foreign market versions...but i have no dinero

2001 was only year they made the mp3.

lol I wasn't sure if I fell under this category or not. I just got the Mazda, and I am really interested in fixing all the wrong doings to her and making her look new. I just have an MP then?

323, Your picture is quite hilarious to me. I actually drive both a Mazda Protege and a Honda CR-V

Keno got it right part of the way....
323 started this new found addiction...
And as for the FS I could care less about that engine. I am saving up so I can do the build either before or after I transfer.

No problem, we all had to started at some point. A sealed battery relocation box. That way I can move the battery back there and hide it in the trunk and free up more space under the hood. There is alot more involved then just the box but I am setting up for a clean install.

Interesting. I didn't think of a battery box. So perhaps this is a dumb question (I don't think it is) but what are you going to put in place of the battery up front. If the goal is to free space under the hood (and I don't buy that a 45lbs battery is really helping weight distribution that much) then that implies you want to put something up there that doesn't fit. Unless you are doing a seriously custom turbo install, I can't think of a bolt-on for under the hood that's the size of the battery...

Can you clue me in...?

(Nice work on the box dimensions, by the way. Looks like it fits perfectly. Also- I get the recessed space for the box, but what is the "shelf" portion of your new metal work for?)

what you puttin in the engine bay? is it some go fast goodies?

A big surprise. LOL. Go fast and reliable all at the same time.

Damn it. The suspense...

Just finished installing the passenger-side AWR motor mount to go with the front, and rear AWR mounts that I've had since 2003. I still have the driver's side to tackle another day....

On a side note, the stock passenger mount was torn to s***!!

Recently installed new front and pass side oem mounts with inserts and put inserts in trans mount. Seafoamed and changed oil

You could have a mazdaspeed protege/MSP, or simply a regular protege. If it was built in 03 and is turboed, MSP, if not, regular.

Did it look like this by any chance lol
