What have you done to your Miata today?

Longer-term review on the AMSoil transmission oil: pretty darn good. It's not some magical cure-all for a transmission, but it turned severe cold notchiness into barely noticable cold notchiness and lets me shift into 2nd under heavy load (i.e. WOT runs) without much argument. Definitely a big improvement over Red Line MTL. FWIW my transmission has something over 210k miles on it and shifts well again. No deleterious effects of packing the shifter turret with grease either.

FM hub stands finally shipped, should get them next week.

A fun photo from a car show last Sunday that has my car in it.

Hahahaha. Unfortunately, they're one of very few pair that still fit me after deciding to gain weight. (And I'm too cheap to buy more)

Love it or hate it, I finally finished the harlequin paint job:

A few subtle differences: shaved antenna mount, sanded rear tail lights to get rid of the embossed lettering (hooray WillD!), and chip guard on the rockers.

I am quite pleased with how it came out.

Here is an OEM light, then a sanded light below it. My painter clear coated them after I sanded the numbers off with 400. Obviously the finished product is on the car.

Everything needs a wash and then a buff. Minor details.

I definitely don't hate it, and since it's not my car I can say that I definitely think it's cool. (2thumbs)

Thanks guys. I was definitely going for "unique." Also "inexpensive." Since my auto-body guy just used paint leftovers I only paid for labor. My hardtop got painted matte black too.

I like how polarizing it is and watching people mouth "what the fu!k" as I drive by.

Trust me, I'd much rather see that than someone ruining yet another car by slamming it to the ground, beating the piss out of it, and rattle canning it some stupid shade of matte s***. I dig it.

This is absolutely the way I feel.

IMO the "harlequin" look works better on cars with multiple doors on a side, so you get 4 colors down the side.
