What have you done to your Miata today?

Drove it around a bit, running autotune for 12 psi. Wow wow wow. I can't believe I waited this long to start fiddling with it.

Yeah, quick trip to get water and clutch dropped to the floor as I pulled into my spot at home.

If the slave died replace the master. They've been known to shed seals slowly and kill multiple slaves. Could save you some annoyance down the road.

Oh I know, I did them on my old Miata together.

This time my neighbor (Nissan tech) is doing it, along with installing the I.l. Motor mounts, a new driveshaft (old u joints dead) oil change, brake bleed, and compression check

Pulled off the nose and cleaned the AF. Also re torqued the bolts that hold the baseplate for towing.

Home again, home again, (not so) lickety split. Watch here in the coming days for some actual work and not just parts buying.

Looking forward to it!

Drove mine to a meet yesterday. Had some fun within the means of the speed limit as well. The recent bits of auto-tune that I've done have made worlds of difference in drivability. Car pulls a lot harder now too. Wish I could slap it back on the dyno and see the difference.

COP conversion runs! I need to neaten a few things up, will be posting pictures in a day or two.

Over the weekend I went to the Wilmington Championship Tour and finished 5th out of 7 cars in STS.

STS was the first run group each day and it was rainy on Saturday morning so our first 2 runs were with a wet and drying course which favored the CRXs. I was able to put down a pretty good third run on a cold, dry course but picked up a cone somewhere. Without the cone I would've been in 3rd after day 1. :( I didn't improve at all on day 2. I DNF'ed my best run at the end of the course heading towards the finish.

Overall it was an awesome event. I'm definitely going to be heading to a few more national events in the future. ;)

On the way home the clutch was slipping pretty badly in 3-5th gears. I'm not really sure if it's a bad clutch, oil leaking down onto the bell housing/clutch, or just clutch pedal adjustment that is causing the issue. I don't think it affected any of my runs as it isn't nearly as bad in 1-2 gears.

Early start this morning thanks to jet lag. Got a valve cover cleaned up enough to send off for powder coating. Removed the dash vents and changed over the rings from gloss black to satin black. Put the valve stems in my new wheels, I was happy to find the bronze ones I ordered (same ones used in the Lightspeeds) match the gold in the new wheels close enough that you can't tell. There were no center caps included with the wheels (I didn't ask about them as I figured being new wheels they would have them. I'll remember to ask if I go down this road again) so ordered those last night, I have to decide if I want to paint them to match the wheels or leave them chrome. Heading into town here soon, ordering a set of BFG Rivals, some parts from the dealer, and picking up some socket head cap screws for this:

I'll be cutting a gasket for that too and grinding down the thermostat to fit.

Spent all night chasing around a short in the COP wiring tach signal... I think I have it figured out, but it was majorly frustrating.

Drove it

New motor mounts, driveshaft, and exhaust leak fixed and it's like a whole new car! It has me questioning selling it

I'm also looking into a replacement neutral switch (Since that being bad won't let me do a proper tune)

Then, the only thing left to do is raise the front a little and put new tires on and probably keep it

I'm also looking into a replacement neutral switch (Since that being bad won't let me do a proper tune)

What could the neutral switch possibly affect in the tune?? I'm kinda scratching my head here...

It's the Link ECU. Without the ecu realizing it is in neutral, it won't let me tune. That's why i couldn't find the timing adjustment.

If the "N" is not present on the keypad, it won't let me make changes.

Rivals ordered. You can only get them through Tire Rack, which sucks because I wanted to give my money to a local place.
