What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

I got a deal on them so for how much I payed I actually like them. My stock tires were Nankangs, got them with the car from the dealer and those tires were horrible! So compared to my previous set these are nice. I went with a taller side wall, and I noticed it's less bumpy which is what I like, and they are slightly wider so my wheels don't look as tucked in anymore.

I looked at Bridgestone Potenzas, re760 and I was looking at $1000 +. Nevermind toyo r888's or nittos nt01's, those would cost me a fortune :|, 18" wheels get pricey lol. I also didn't want to invest in expensive tires on my stock rims, so these will just be temporary I guess. I'd probably go with a better brand of tires when I get nice new rims.

boost gauge install was successfull last night, in the process i found out the car is equipped with the optional shock sensor upgrade.... due to some rain i didnt get the wheels swapped over like i planned so that'll have to happen this afternoon when it gets back from the detail shop (i was reeaalllly hoping not to have to clean those tenzo's myself before putting them on haha)

what should the boost gauge be reading? i took it for a spin around the block afterwords it seemed to spike as high as 20-23psi under heavy throttle... that seems to high to me?

Woo! Page 500! Just back from our honeymoon and was happy to take the Speed out for a spin and a wash after 2 weeks away. I'll have to do some back-reading to see if I missed anything.

Dave, I don't think my Prosport has ever showed as high as 23PSI, but I have also always just taken its accuracy with a grain of salt and assumed it was "close" rather than giving an exact reading. I'll take a look next time I go for a drive and see what it reads for me.

Khamikahze - how do you like the TMIC? Noticable improvement?

I installed my COBB SF intake last night and i LOOOVE the little woosh sound it makes! one quick question tho, it said to torque one of the clamps to 30 inlbs. seeing as i dont have a torque wrench i just tightened it with a socket wrench just enough so when i pushed the wrench (to tighten it more) with one finger it was pretty resistant. So i would assume thats good enough if not a little tighter then 30 inlbs. Any concern from you guys that i should address? And i also am not going WOT because i read one here that you should let the car relearn the trims for about 500 miles after disconnecting the battery terminal? does that sounds right to you guys?
*Also, durring install i noticed after i took the stock intake box out and the metal piece with rubber o-rings the the bottom of the airbox pops into. I saw an open tube down towards the bottom of the car.. the instructions from cobb didnt mention this piece at all.. anyone know what this is and if its important?

I am strongly considering this wheel. 17.2 lbs. Thoughts on a liquid plat?

I think the would look great! I havent seen them on a ms6 yet! and with all the MSR 045's rolling around, it would be nice to see something different!

Ran seafoam through the gas tank and through a vaccuum line, did the crankcase last oil change, car got it's pep back!

I like those. I can't quite picture them on an LPM Speed6 though, if someone has some photoshop time on their hands, this would be a good project.

Qwik, the Vette is looking great. I love those Corbeau seats. I'm also a big fan of the headlight conversion. It looks miles ahead of when you bought it.

Thanks! Yes the headlights are very bright with the 55w hid kit installed. One side went out on me after a week. Crappy ebay kit I suppose. I got a DDM slim ballast on order. Hopefully that will fix it. The corbeau seats are great! very comfy and supportive. Never going back t the stock ones!

Well I am on the third day of my oil change. 1st day, got the pan drained and the filter drained. And that's where I left off. I CAN'T get the filter cover off. I gave up without using the tool two nights ago. Yesterday rode the bike in town and got a 15 flute cup (looked it up online) and went back just to find out it's to big. Went back last night and got the 14 flute cup. Fit good, but it when I put enough pressure on her, it just slipped and started to "strip out" Pissed off I threw the thing across the shop.

Unfortunately I had to take the car to Firestone before the move. And I'd like to kick the teenage tech in the d%$& for putting it on so tight. SO! I am going back into town and going to try and find something to get this thing off. And promptly ordering the spin on conversion. Absolutely retarded. And the only Mazda dealership isn't a SPEED dealership, so I don't feel comfortable asking them about anything....Even though I am sure it's exactly the same as a non speed. RANT OFF!

Go to AutoZone, get a "form a funnel" and use it to grip the filter. It's a lead "blanket" you can wrap around filters, worked wonders for me before. Just keep it away from the kids and pregnant wife (lead)
