What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

Forgot to mention...

I got my RMM and TWM Stage 2 w/ bushings installed yesterday. It's true what they say about the car feeling much better with these mods; everything feels so much more "connected", like the engine and drivetrain are all one piece.

Nice vette Q, headers make a big hp diff on those, I may would leave the wheels as is but your other plans sound great. With head work you may want to look at the fast lsx intake mani, prob make an even bigger diff w/the head work.

For the $ the MS6 is still atop several list for me, sure you can get more luxury or more sportines, but it will cost you a lot more. To me the lux/sport upgrade is the 335i and those are a bit higher for those who've looked. Looks like Q has gone for pure sport and w/a nice vette but I bet he isn't pricing many newer ones. PPl just get ready for something diff ever so often most of the time and u cant blame em, heck I've gone through 4 cars in the last 5 years. The MS6 may make it a while but who knows.

Tuned mine a little yesterday to get the boost holding longer, improvement made but tuned a little more and haven't been able to test yet to see if I totally corrected it, I'm sure you all wan't to know ; ) so i'll keep you up on it.

Qwik, nice choice on the car, but I'm having trouble finding more info out on the 2001 Grand Sport. What was special about that over the base C5? Also, there's a lot of s*** tacked onto that thing from the pics, you gonna take a bit of that off? Side mouldings look terrible, and that lower front splitter too.

The GS was if I rem correctly just diff in styling w/a suspension and brake upgrade, power train is the same.

+1 on the styling tid bits however I think the spoiler is the only thing he couldn't pull off and w/him rethinking that I assumed he'd be making other appropriate adjustments.

I havent really gave much thought about the side mouldings. I did tell by looking at it yesterday that it was stuck on and I could see the paint breaking off around its edges. I may take them off completely and have that lower piece repainted. Since I will lower it an inch that front lip will be comming off. It sticks down too low now as it is. I do want those wheels powder coated black. The rear spoiler I am looking out would lay over and cover all th holes of the existing spoiler.

Steve- I m not exactly sure what the grand sport has over the other models either. I was thinking it was maybe a lip and spiler package but now that I look those are aftermarket anyways. But I am not seeing any direct info in a grand sport for this year. May just be a badge stuck on the side. .

I know this guy selling it put the stock mufflers and all back on as well as the aftermarket intake. He said if I bought it he would install those items back on if I liked.

Anyways, this is the look I am going for. Though this is a zo6.

Either way, I like what you've got planned for it. I was at a car show today and saw a lot of C5 Z06s which look really good, even in yellow. I also had a lot of attention, as I was the only GT 5.0 there. Couldn't believe how many people didn't know it was already out and back on the street.

Took my the 6 out to stretch her legs a little. took her to the 1/4 mile and had a few passes with a consistant 13.3. i could not get out of the 13.3 range to save my life. My trap speed varied a lot though. On my first 13.3 of the day i trapped 104. I need to go back with some stickier tires and my rear diff mounts installed. Then maybe i can get tose 60' times down.

Good runs!

Mods?

3" tbe, pg mani, custom fmic, tip, intake, tune, re-worked ko4, 17-19psi. Runs were not back to back though. I had about 20-30 minutes in between. Oh and thanks for congratulations.

Somewhere in the $17k range. Still need to do the math and figure out exactly how much I need for it. Im going to lose money regardless.

Then you should just keep it!

Ah well, we all knew you had been on the fence for a while, it seems like you've found something you really like, so I hope you get a good price for the speed and it goes to someone who will treat it right.

As for me, I actually got it out on a road course on Saturday. It was totally unexpected, we just went to watch a friend compete in the drags, but one of the guys was chatting with the owner of the track and he ended up offering us some free track time so I did a couple laps and let a friend take a lap. It was a ton of fun, even taking it a little easy cause I didn't know the track well. I could definitely feel the front want to push a little sometimes, but with everything in the trunk and bags and stuff in the back seat + passenger I would have been a little heavy, plus these are not track tires. That was my car's first time on a road course and I think she did alright.

Ok, so i had a super busy weekend.
Friday, i attended a track event day that i was invited to as a ViP. One of the partners who owned Redline started this company along with a new partner. They both invited me to attend all day free of charge to see how they run things as well as get as much track time as i wished. I wasnt prepped for a full day, so i tracked about half the day... lol they let me drive any session, so i ended up with three bracelet passes, haha! GREAT fun day, tiring... with only one drawback. This was a new track for me, which was a MUCH more technical track than any i have been on. I spun out the end of the day coming out of a long left turn sweeper after hitting a bunch of gravel that was kicked up earlier that day. Luckily, im alive and no major dmg... unluckily my alignment is SCREWED the hell up, i have this weird whinning electrical sound now, and i got slight rim lip dmg and a chunk of my passenger side front tire sidewall is ripped open (luckily it doesnt seem to be deep enough to affect the integrity)... :(

Saturday was 7stock (HUGE mazda rotary event in california, Mazfest being 2nd largest) where even people from Japan fly over to attend. i drove 3 hr round trip despite my previous days dmgs. Got a few pictures, spent all day, smoozed with vendors that new me from mazfest and made additional contacts; this was all on a perfect weather day down in Irvine CA.

Sunday, worked on my exhaust rattle a bit more. Looked for causes of the "winning" sound, and drove another 2 hr roundtrip day to help my grandma pack up for her move.
(im worried my tire tread will be screwed soon) Overall though, a great FUN weekend!

dyam nice times man! stickier tires and getting that diff mount installed should give you a bit better trap... cant wait to see if it gets u closer to 13 flat too!

Tracking is fun, so addicting, and addrenaline PUMPING!!! eh?? i luv it, hope you end up pursueing it! I was supposed to take it easy on track this weekend too, but uh, i pushed it a bit hard for a track i never been on, LOL!! Im just surprised the track event host LET you keep stuff in your car... USUALLY most hosts will require you gut your car of all loose items for liability & safety. I always do it anyways to save weight and so i dont have stuff slamming around noisely. I keep this huge duffle back in the trunk at all times for this reason (im becoming a track *****, LOL!).

*sniffle*
*picture of 50k miles miles*

i fell your pain man!!! i rolled over 50k last weekend. 51.6k this weekend. :(
