What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

Hey guys, I am finishing up the double din today. I have a quick question for those of you who have installed an aftermarket radio. Do you know if this car has a power antenna? Like when you installed the radio is all you did was connect the antenna to the aftermarket radio?

Thanks

Washed it yesterday. I'd like to wax again since it's been a while, just haven't had time. Also I found a small new dent in the door (parking lot?), a couple small rock chips on the hood and roof, and a small chip in the windshield. Apparently it has been a rough summer for her. :(

Qwik, I don't think you'll have the same love for a Vette that you have for the Speed. Evo... eh, maybe a little closer, but I have a feeling it won't keep your interest as long.

The factory antenna plugs right into the aftermarket one.

OJ- Yea. The vette would be a nice weekend car. I have drove my dads. Not sure if that is something I would really want to drive daily. your basically laying down sitting in it and have to crawl out of it. The zo6 will end up getting me in jail cuz I am sure I would test out its top end. :D . I was really into the evo. Then I am now finding out that the seats are not height adjustable. The steering wheel does not teliscope. And many people complain about that. I don't know if I could deal with that since I like to sit far back with the wheel out all the way. I am also seeing on reviews that the gearing isnt that great on the gsr.

Well upon the 2nd and final stage of my DP install this morn, I saw that my rear diff mount is basically cracked in half. I'll ba babying it till I can get an upgraded one in.

Installed the new wheels. Took her for a spin and there is some rubbing going on in the rear (wife thought the car was falling apart when it first happened!). They look great, but I'm not big on bending sheet metal. So the question is, do I slightly roll or let the wife have them (with the Advan Sport summers) on her 8? Tungsten, don't bother because I know what you will say!

Aha, see, I knew the beautiful, comfortable, and practical interior of the Speed would get to you! It's really tough to find anything comparable to this car, or to replace it with.

I'm seriously in love with the car. Its given me 4.5 trouble-free, fun-filled months and the promise of many more. I can't wait to try it in the snow. I wish I were up in canadaland to get some real winter driving in. How does this car handle with normal snow driving with all seasons? My dunlop sp's on my old 3 did fairly well... I've got conti DWS on there now

Took my sister to a parking lot and showed her a bit more on how to drive a manual. She's taking drivers training right now and wants to learn. She did alright, but she's still not ready to hit the road yet in it.

After taking a look and considering the rear fender lips were already slightly distorted, I went ahead and did a minor tuck with my rubber mallet to cure the rubbing. Looking pretty good, see the pictures in the BCM thread.

Exactly. I really want a different toy but for everyday practicallity its hard to beat the speed6. I actually got it where it shifts a little better. Cleaned and put fresh grease on all the moving parts for the linkage on the transmission. Also put on the cobb shifter wieght. I almost feel like my linkage needs to be adjusted to be shorter. Since there seems to be a lot of play once in gear as far as left to ight movement. Once in gear the knob doesn't feel solid. It jiggles left to right. But I am still power hungry. I definetly need a good protune and some more suspension upgrades to handles the tunrs more precise. I want to re-do my engine bay. You guys thought my engine was spotless before. It looks dirty now since I removed all the ducting and now all the dirt gets sucked up into the engine bay. Also there is water spots on everything in there. The exhaust manifold makes it so damn hot under the hood. I can see the heat waves coming off my hood at idle. (ughdance)

Today I went out to the garage, looked at my MS6 with its hood up, cried a little that it's un-driveable right now, then shook my head and went inside. Told the wife I'm selling it. She's happy. That makes one of us.

I'll start.

Installed 6000k HID fogs and new D2S bulbs, reinstalled my turbo inlet and BPV after I got it back from the dealer.

HIDs (for those of you who haven't seen my thread)

That's a nice car! I want to have that. Are you selling it? :D

It has done very well for me in the snow, and can be a blast (see avatar). Really, it mostly comes down to the tires in the winter. I had the first snowfall the year I got it on summer Falkens and it was horrible. Then I put on the winter Hankooks and it felt a million times better. Still slides on ice, but pretty much everything does. Overall it's great in snow and slush.

So you're saying you're coming back around on the Speed again? :) I know it's tempting to start from scratch now and then, but don't give in to that temptation! Your car is a work of art, and it would be a shame to see it in someone else's hands.
