What have you done to your Mazda3 today?

Well, I missed the Houston area meetup because I got hit in the front an hour before I was supposed to leave.

The damage was as follows: (all driver's side)
1). Bumper bracket was broken
2). Front driver's quarter panel was dented and bent.
3). Factory HID insides were dismantled (bulbs were still good)

$1700 later, covered by 19 year old's insurance:

-Body damage fixed

-Factory HID replaced with my original bulbs

-Factory HID was $865, no bulbs.

-They EVEN buffed out my passenger lamp assembly to get rid of the fogginess to match the new headlamp. Woot!

-Complementary car wash

Now do yourself a favor and "invest" in some Lamin-X film for those headlamps to protect them from additional sun/UV damage, as well as rock and stone chips.

Just Dropped my car of for window tint. Getting carbon fiber tint 20 rear 30 front. Also ordered a DDM tuning slim ballast HID kit 5k at 35w.

you do realize most 3's have been able to "safely" run 6-8psi on a gt28 and thats good more whp than a stock speed3 so yea a "low pressure" turbo'd 3 can be damn fun

Numbers please.
I know it can run it safely, and of course there'll be power gains, but what kind of gains can be had with 6-8psi? (Not being snooty, I really want to know.)

The MS3 peaks out @ 15psi and 283hp. But even if you only get 180-190 on 6-8, I think that would be a vast improvement.
Too much and you'd be spinning all the time anyway, not to mention the torque steer which would pull the wheel right out of your hand.

from what i found the tripoint kit puts out decent power with around 243hp and 210tq

gotta remember ms3 has a smaller turbo.... and its 263hp and 280's tq from a stock speed3

Yes, you're correct. 244 from the CX7, 263 from the same engine in the MS3. I always get the tq and hp numbers backward when talking about the MS. Still a lot of power, and it being a smaller turbo, I would imagine it spools up faster (earlier boost, less lag) as well.

New 215s up front and swapped the 225s to the rear. Also installed 15mm spacers in the back. Fitment is great!

Tomorrow is suspension work. Again.

time to do some dynolicious runs for the next week to see if TRZ "dog bone" rear motor mount and Strut Brace help

Swapped my blue 17s onto my brother's white 08 hatch along with the jbarone shift plate I was using. The shift plate combined with my ms sts was pulling the shift cable too tight and throwing off my second gear shifts. My brother will be happy with free mods!
