what gas mileage are you guys getting now that it's winter?

i'm in socal, temecula area, it's in the low 30s in the morning when i drive to work now, and 60s when getting off work driving home.

trying to figure out wtf is up, during the summer i was hitting 290-300 a tankful.
right now if im lucky i'm hitting 240a tankful. the only change is from summer to winter, and i added an hks ssqv. would the ssqv take away that much gas ? i drive the same as always, all street 11 mile one way commute to work. i know if i had highway it would go up,

what are you guys getting? is it cuz of the winter blend of gas? colder weather? or does the hks ssqv actually do something to the gas mileage?

It's winter (5-30 degrees) here in IA, and I'm seeing about the same as you are 230-250.

It seems to vary from gas station for me.. Have gotten as low as 240 a tank to 300 a tank.


EDIT: I too live only 3 miles from work.. so it is all city mileage.

im averaging about 240ish per tank now. I used to 330-360 but i changed jobs recently. My commute went from 31 miles one way highway to 3 miles one way city. Obviously the city driving plays a big role but i am i am not sure how bad the winter has effected it.

hmm seems the 230-250 ish range is normal then, i thought it was me.
i got that pre cobb sri , when i put the sri on, it jumped up to the 280s, with 300s a few times. then the ssqv went on and boom, mileage went to s*** but it was wintertime also...

I've filled up three tanks thus far in my 09 and I got like 260, 280, 260. This is with mixed driving, maybe 60% highway, 40% city.

Doing the math I'm getting like 22-23mpg, but mind you I'm in San Francisco so its doesn't really get cold here. Maybe 45 in the mornings.

I usually get 22 mpg in Pittsburgh weather. I don't drive it aggressively, though, more like "spirited" driving. 2 weeks ago I decided to do a little experiment for a week, where I would upshift as early as possible and keep the car in the highest gear without over-lugging the motor. Ended up with 25.6 mpg, mix of city/hwy, and that's in cold weather.

Now I'm back to about 22-23 mpg, it's hard not to want to keep it in 3rg gear in city driving to get all that power! I didn't buy this car to drive it like Grandma Rhubarb...!

I don't think mine is that different -- I let it idle for 5-10 minutes in the morning so I'll have some heat. That can't be good for the mileage, but I didn't buy it for that, so I don't really care. Still better than my Ram by 50% or so.

Is that by the computer? If so, subtract 7% to 12%. The last time I actually checked mine, it was in the 20.3-22 range.

I'm getting 17.63/20.05 US/IMP miles per gallon in the winter here. 222 miles on the tank (fuel light on).
