the obx with stock muffler/exhaust is quieter then my car with injen. a LOT quieter.
you'd better keep that stock.. i know someone that would be upset if you "modded" it... :D

does anyone know what the car sounds like with the stock muffler on and just the obx header? I'm afraid that if I get a muffler/catback with the obx header, the car might sound too obnoxious for my taste

[edit]
oh yea, does anyone have pictures of the obx catback exhaust installed? if so, please post them. thanks!

I don't have any time to get a sample for you, but I can tell you it sounds nice... louder but not super loud.

As for the OBX exhaust, I recommend you forget about it. I have a buddy who has one installed and the tip is so huge, you'd have to re-cut the bumper so it fits. He just let the tip melt the bumper away, and it looks real ghetto now.

Wow, that's just the sound Iwas looking for! Thanks for the mp3 clip Lord Zath, I'll definetly be looking into getting just the header.

Oh yea, not to change to the topic or "threadjack" too much, but about the snorkel delete. I did that mod a while ago, and sound did increase, but I, as well as other people, noticed that there is a noticible reduction in torque because its drawing in air from the hot engine compartment. The stock setup isn't so great either, because you can notice that the snorkel is completely cut off from the solid grill. You can do some grill modifications, which i did, which gives the intake a psudo-ram effect. It sounds alittle silly, but I can definelty notice gains. Apparently, some say that it has better low end toque compared to a CAI (but not high end torque or power)

They have detailed pictures of where you need to cut the grill, and when you close the hood, you can't tell at all from the outside that you did any cutting. You'll also have to remove the grill for easier cutting purposes. I recommend using a hacksaw with a removable thin blade if you don't have access to a dremel or another tool of that sort. It makes the job much easier than a razor. For a free mod, its definetly worth it. Ok, thats enough of my digression, back to exhaust upgrades.

Skunk2 Mega Power, 2.5" piping, sounds great and deep, no raspyness at all(boom05)

I still spray, think I need a clutch though.

You're in luck! I forgot I took a sample w/my Canon after I first got the header installed. I'm turning left onto a 55mph speed limit road. So this is basically a 0-60 run. OBX Header and stock airbox and snorkel delete are the only mods here. Enjoy!

When you finished installing both the OBX header and exhaust did you notice any loss of torque in the lower RPMs?... It just seems to me that the 2.5" piping is a bit bigger than needed for this setup and that there may be some lower end torque loss. I could be totally off base here. Just curious...

yes a tad was gone in low-end. mid and upper range increased so much it didn't matter. If you are concerned about this, pick up an underdrive pulley. That thing frees up a TON of hp/tq in the low-end. Header and UDP combo are great for all-around hp gains.

Tanabe

I just got the Tanabe SuperMedalion Hyper axle back to replace my Bosal. I could not have imagined a sweeter sound! (hump) I have OBX header with MAM midpipe/high flow, I did like my Bosal until the header/high flow and then it was ridiculously loud.
