what do you love\hate about your P5?

I love:

the look of it, the handling, can carry my 4 race tires/bike/skis, gets good mpg, the stereo [love the indash cd changer].

I hate:

the seats [they have no support], 5th gear revs to high at 80 mph, temp gauge does nothing till I get to the middle, could use better tires.

I love the looks, the handling, the practicality.

I hate the lack of power, and it needs more handling, you can never have enough handling

I love the look of the car.

I strongly dislike the less than advertised gas mileage and I wish it had more cargo space.

Overall I like the car, but wish I'd waited a little longer and bought a Pontiac Vibe. That would have been a better match for my needs.

Perhaps...but everyone and their grandparents drives a Vibe now. I like being the cool little car that nobody knows about...our own little elite club.

And there is no thing as too much horsepower, but 170 would be nice -- maybe an MSP5?

IMO the handling is spot on for the market segment. Most cars have firmer suspension but roll like whales in corners -- The P5 does not, which is exactly what I wanted.

I love how it feels, stock, cause it's beter feeling than most in it;s class stock. I also loved how the car turnued for a 'wagon', sport wagon though. I love my P5, and even with the better power of the MSP, still miss my MP5, but also love my mazdaspeed. I think the P5 is avery good car for the price. Also, even though the P5 stereo is kinda lacking in bass, i loved how it sounded for my punk music...ie, no wierd noise/distortion from tweeters.(I used to own a 2002 P5). The car was very nice and sporty.

Yeah, there is just as many MSP like it lump it posts, but whatever, aparently search is not an option.lol. but hey, I kinda like making posts on these threads, makes me appreciate my car even more.so it doesn't really bother me.

I love everything about my protege 5 except at the fact that its lowered and very bouncy but everyting else is great. I have so much control of this car and its a fast little car... and it was SOOOOOOO ******* easy to install the sub and c.d player... everything is snap on snap off.... there is so much leg and head room.... also it warms up very quickly and even my own father how owns a ford focus ztw commented on how smooth it is and how it has alot better control then his! so im very happy about my car...

Lets see, the most commonly bitched about arein no particular order)

Motor Mounts
lack of power
easiy chipped paint
Cheap glass (windshield)
seat have little lumbar support
floormats wore out in a month
door lock location
stock tires horrible in anything but dry weather
roof rack wind noise
cluch chatter
rusting brakes, removal of wheels
noise at startup
poor gas milage
crappy ABS

Most of those are easily fixed. Some of them are inherent for a fairly inexpensive ECONOMY car. Some are ust stupid things people b**** about. The few things that bugged me were fixed, by me. I think it's a great car.

tires are horrible, i don't have a roof rack but the people that i know that do have it hate it, abs is stupid... need a better abs controler, gas millage is underpar compared to every other econo car, power is okay for what you pay for it,

The trq is ok, but after about 5500 rpm this car is gutless! I'm used to driving my Honda, rev to fuel cut. The car sits too high, the roof rack "was" very annoying. The tires are terrible.

Yeh, but there is no joy in adding your .02 to a thread that's already 372 pages long. It's more fun to start your own. Why not? Who does it hurt?

Anyway, 38,000 miles later and I still love everything about mine. Except there is one thing I have really come to hate about it, it arrives in the mail every month from Mazda American Credit. The FREAKING PAYMENTS!!!!!!!

I love the feel of the car. I hate the lack of power.
I love the look of the front. Kinda weirded out about the taill lights.
I also hate getting out of the car and being shocked. It happens every time. I'm just waiting to get shocked while pumping gas.
