What do I need to do to get ...

I am hoping to get about 320 or so HP at the wheels. With our MS3 platform, what mods do I need?

Also I am pretty sure this platform will be fine at that HP but what are your opinions?

he wont go boom at 320.. most people are boomin around 350 tune it right and ull be ok. tbe intake bov upgraded fmic maybe 18 lbs

full bolt on and tune. or an upgraded turbo, with a tune and possibly forged internals of course

lol... do some research man, There are plenty of ways to make 320 hp...

Some people say a bottle in the back seat is enough.

Others go the way of the CP-e piggy back, w/ an intake and turbo back exhuast... Others might build the motor and change out the turbo's along with other said ups. It depends on how much money you are looking to spend and what your expirence is with working on cars.

Just please please please make sure to keep your car tuned. It seems a few of the motors that have blown so far where un-tuned.

What you need is the ability to read the vast quantities of information already posted on similar topics to this by using the SEARCH button. Contrary to popular belief it is there, and does actually work. I hate these redundant posts about "how can I achieve xxx horsepower. The same way you would with any other damn car, bolt on some mods, get it tuned, take it to the dyno....voila!

what is your reason for hitting 320 whp? Is it for weekend track days or just some spirited driving from time to time?

Honestly I would be ok with a legitimate 300hp or perhaps 310hp. If I track it, stock horse power would be ok for that because running at the track is all about learning how to handle your car through corners and this car has plenty of HP to push the car through corners. So the track is not my motivation. It would be rare that I track it.

I just want that much power, not sure why.

I would just get some bolt ons, a cp-e standback and tune, nothing crazy, and will be faster than you will expect with just that. It might not hit 310whp, but it will be close. Get some really light wheels and you won't have to worry about any engine problems, and will still have a faster car.

Definately wont be "near" 300 with those mods unless your definition of bolt on is different than mine.

Im yet to see anyone without an upgraded turbo or forged internals break 300 whp safely. Full bolt ons with a FMIC, downpipe, tune will put you around 280ish whp.

what kind of dyno we talking here, on a mustang dyno where im at, showing 250 whp will put u in the 12s.. haha every dynos different!!!

haha exactly, the one i go to has a ridiculous drivetrain loss, a speed6 put down 310 whp and ran 11.4

when I'm talking bolt ons, I just mean the basics, FMIC, Exhaust, and intake, spark plugs and with a cp-e tune with a slight boost gain, I could see 280 whp, that will be more than enough for this car, especially for a daily driver.
I would say that is closer to the 300whp than the stock 230 whp we all come with ;)

To hit 300WHP you will need SRi/CAI, FMIC/TMIC, TBE, Upgraded BPV, Plugs, Possible FP Upgrade, Tune. You can probably push over 300WHP without a tune and with a MBC with a Map Clamp, but the tune is better and suggested.

In that case...which tune?

SB - If you plan to go Big Turbo or run a 5v Source like Meth, then the SB is the one for you hands down. However, the SB will cost a LOT to get tuned. For a full Tune you will need the SB ($650), PNP Harness ($300), Full Throttle Flash ($500) Tuning (Hourly rate, probably 2 hours min) on a dyno then street tuning to fine tune the maps (More $).

AP - Plug it in, flash, unplug and you're done. Out of the box tune and the 103 Maps are out to download and they are really good IMO. No support for an external 5v source and no custom tune till after the new year. Which in Cobb Terms might be 6 months from now or more. The AP is a Flash and not a SB which lies to your ECU and is a much preferred method of tuning for safety reasons.

With the mods in my sig MINUS the DP (only had a test pipe) I put down 289WHP/296TQ. I'm sure with the DP I should be very close to 300WHP now.

not going to turn this into a COBB vs Standback thing, just making a point that COBB hasn't been hitting the marks that they have been claiming, plus, getting a proper tune will always be better than some dude telling you that this is good for your car depending on mods. Thats all.

But tunning is a must to hit some good number and for the car to respond much better, plus with the full control flash, thats a must either with AP or standback, the AP has not been able to do this, unlike some people's claims.

All 103Maps have Full Control. I will be happy to post logs showing no drop in throttle like stock maps. The AP has full control and the throttle is fully open from beginning until you let off.

I have no clue where you're getting your info but the AP is doing just fine with the 103 maps. Rumors like this are just that, rumors. The 103 Maps are showing a lot of promise for OTS maps. I'm very happy with my numbers seeing as I should be over 300whp now that I have my DP installed. That's all I wanted.

The SB is a tool for those that really want to push bigger turbos or run meth. The SB is a great product, but is overkill for most people unless they intend to push the limits or have the cash/time/desire to get it properly tuned. Out of the box without tuning you get nothing more than a Boost Controller and Map Clamp.

The average modder, like myself, has no need for a SB. It requires way more effort to get tuned right and I simply don't want to invest the time and effort into doing it. I want close to 300WHP and to have more power when I need it. I have no desire to push the limits further than that. The MS3 for me is a daily driver. If you have close to 300WHP then you know that much over that would be a PITA as a Daily.

Anyway, I tried to provide un-biased opinions on both but once again it turns into a pissing match. The end story is like I said above. It all depends on your goals and what you hope to achieve.

protegegarage has the rebuilt stock turbo good for 350 horse =] might want to look into that guy
