What did your dad do first ride/drive???

Gb21, way to even it up alittle. I imagine you guys can understand and respect each other a bit more. And just the car to humble some one abit I suppose! Hope you two are square now?

within probably 2 hours of having my car i decide that im going to go show my mom..so i get to her development pick her up...stall a few times ( its my first stick car!) but as soon as i got on the road we're just having simple talk and im just like "oh yeah mom 65" shes like "what" and im like " we're doing 65 already" and her reaction is " holy ******* s*** joseph! this car is too fast for you!"

the 3rd day i had my car i was working at a house with my dad and he had to run out.. so he took my car with his friend
he comes back about 40 mins later (the place was only like 10 min away)
and he says to me... "you better be careful in this ******* thing! its going to be crazy fast once it's broken in" and "have you jammed on the gas and felt the car turn?" i was like yes dad thats because of all the torque!

I traded my mom for her 08 suburban (had to tow my honda to the dyno!) for a weekend, she said the mazda scared her when she gave it too much gas haha.

I wish I was that lucky

My dad pased away in March of this of this year. I've read all of your great stories and I could see my dad in many of them. When I had my RX-8 last year he was all tickled to find out what kind of beast that was, and when I told him I replaced it with something even faster he promised he would come out and try it out (I grew up in europe, he was still there). He never manged to get here...
Cherrish your time with your folks because one day that awsome car that you have will just mean so little (or at least much less) when you will not have that MIGHTY guy that taught you how to drive around.

PEACE (I am 40 something)

I dont even want to think about that day...

Me and my dad have had lots of fun driving together. For my 18th b-day, we went to Bob Bodurant 2 day driving course and got to flog 2 corvettes around the track w/ instructors. When I passed the driving class, I got the MS3. The bad news was they paid for the class, but not the MS3. haha.

two days after I got the speed, I asked my dad if he wanted to drive it. Trying to be non-shelont (sp) about the whole situation, he gets in and gets going. He talked about his older GTO's and how he never drove a stick w/ any more then 4 speeds. I told him to no go out of 4th then. And when we got onto 95, he held the gas to the floor and rode 4 ALL the way out. It was something I wouldnt expect out of Mr. Insurance.

my dad is old school muscle and chopper style type of guy. he's got a 86 vette thats running mid 9's when it hooks up and its a daily. he gets in my little msp, drives off slowly around the bend and then i hear him take off. comes back a few minutes later with a huge grin and said, " its got balls, i'll give you that, but i still got ya." just being able to be somewhat compared to what he's use to is an accomplishment in my book.
