What did you pay for your CX-5?

just picked up my new 2015 Touring AWD with Moonroof/Bose package for $26,000 before TTL. Got an extra $250 memorial day rebate for financing through Mazda. Happy camper :)

Got my 2015 FWD Touring, no options, for $23,999 before TTL from Oakland Mazda --$25,795 MSRP. Got the price online, they honored it, no add-ons or shenanigans. 1.9% financing through the dealership (I told them my bank had approved me for 3%, which was just a slight exaggeration).

EDIT: Another $500 for memorial Day would have been sweet, but I'm glad to be rolling in my baby. I'm bonding with this car like no other.

Glock I am sorry to hear about this. Don't get discouraged. You will get the most money for your car if you sell it yourself, even though it is a hassle sometime. I went to a local Mazda dealership just to see and drive a new CX-5. I usually don't advocate this but the dealer really wanted to see if we could deal with me. So he started to work on the numbers on my car and the price of the Mazda. I knew exactly what my Porsche was worth on the retail market but I know he would only give auction pricing. Long story short, there was about a $3000 delta and I was not going to eat that. I placed my Cayman S in the classifieds on the forum I frequented and sold it two days later for above retail. I now have $5000 in my pocket after paying for the CX-5. Is there a way you could finance the CX-5 first and then sell your present car privately?

There's no way for me to get a new car now without getting rid of my current car prior, or as a trade in.

My state inspection is due next week and I'm going to need brakes soon, maybe tires too. I think at this point I'm going to take a step back and spend the necessary money to maintain my Mazda6, then revisit a new car shopping in a few months. Maybe see what changes or gets enhanced when the "15.5s" hit the dealerships in the fall...

Friday was just a bad day. On the way to the dealership, the tire tread from an 18 wheeler came flying at me as I was changing lanes to exit the PA turnpike. I felt it hit and sure enough it took out the left front side marker on my bumper and the fender well mud guard. I already ordered a new side marker and assembly. I plan on stopping by the body shop around the corner on Tuesday to see about the mud guard. I think I found the right one on ebay, but want to make sure. I'll probably just let him take care of it though.

It's almost as if the man upstairs was adamantly telling me not to buy a new car right now...

How are you guys getting $500 off Memorial day? Mazda site says $250 off. I talked with the dealer more today and they are holding onto $1750 off touring 2015 + $250 Memorial day. $2000 off a $25,995 MSRP.

I actually saw a Mazda TV ad yesterday promoting the extra $500 rebate for Memorial Day. Maybe it's not a nationwide promo, just regional?

Just picked up my 2015 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD Blue Reflex Mica w/Tech Package and Remote Start
$32,050 MSRP
$30,551 retail price (Consumer Reports Buying Service)
-750 Mazda loyalty discount
-500 Memorial Day discount
$29,301 not including TTL

Absolutely no mention of extended warranty or GAP "opportunity". Simply sign and drive.

Absolutely beautiful! Congrats!!!

I was interested in the remote start too, but got turned off by needing to use a 2nd remote. I think for the money and taking into account all the tech the car has already, they could've come up with a remote starter system/remote that totally takes the place of the standard keyless remote.

It's not a small fob. I stared at it for a day before I dove into the manuals to get it to work.

I agree, it should be integrated into the standard keyless remote - or come up with a mobile app.

I really like the Reflex Mica. It ran a close second to the soul red I eventually bought. Sometimes I wonder where the auto makers get the names for their colors.

TrueCar is the way to go

I always use TrueCar. No discussion, no back and forth. Just add the dealer's fee. Three days ago, we took delivery:

My Garage

2015 GT w/Tech
  • Soul red (msrp $300)
  • Wheel locks (msrp $55)
  • Bumper protector (msrp $100)

TrueCar price for my zip: $28,880
Dealer Fee: $699
Add 6% Tax: $31,353
tag transfer, battery fee about $200

Financed at BoA @ 2.1% for 60 months

Bought the 2015 Touring in white last night. sale price $23,995. Total price with tax and fees $26560 here in California. Great dealership and i came in prepared but they sent in several people one by one trying to trick me into LoJack for $500 after i fought it on the bill. I had to argue out of it until they finally claimed they disabled it. BS. Then they pushed me into 1.9% for 60 instead of the .9% for 36 claiming that i may get rejected by bank and they want me to leave with car. Finally GM talked me into it but thats an additional $1000 in interest over 5 years. GM claims that the dealership only profits past 1.9% so there is no incentive for them to push that rate. They just want me to leave with the car. Again this may be BS. My credit score is 755 and I make 3,300 a month. Anyway so far love the car. It looks lovely on the driveway. It looks better at home than it looked at dealer. Not sure if they sold me on the 1.9% just cause I spent all week getting $2000 off MSRP.

That's pretty much exactly the deal I got-- 2015 touring for $23,999, $2650 (I'm in California as well) out the door, 1.9% on 60 months. At the time the .9% was just for '14s. I probably could have negotiated more on the interest rate, but I put about half down and plan to pay it off early so the difference in total interest on a point or so isn't going to be significant enough to worry about.

Picked up a GT with blows [bose] and the tech package
Sticker 31500
Paid 29500 before tax etc
They also gave me blue book on my trade....
Almost forgot. $500 memorial day and I think it was 200 dealer cash as an extra bonus in my favor
could I have done better..not sure but I'm happy and I was tired off car shopping for 2 weeks :)

Yesterday I bought a '15 white GT with grey interior for $28,663 OTD. Taxes, fees, everything included. 1.9% APR. I also got $1,500 over KBB for my Subaru WRX.

Price included a $500 military, $500 graduate, and $250 memorial weekend discount. Before all the taxes and fees the car price was $26,034.

Didn't end up getting the CX-5, but I got a mouth quote of 1750 off invoice for the GT with the Tech package after test driving it. I think the price would be 28480 before TTL (had rails, rear sensor, bumper plate, wheel locks). This was in the Bay Area.

Shopped for a 2015 Touring FWD in White, no other options.

I went through TrueCar and requested prices from 3 dealerships and then got 3 phone calls that afternoon from the dealers that I pinged from TrueCar. The dealers then sent more emails to me separate from the TrueCar emails with prices that were even lower.

MSRP for was $25,995, -$2,000 Dealer Discount, -$500 Mazda Loyalty, -$250 Customer Cash (Memorial Day). Ended up at $23,245, and with TTL I was out the door at $25,800.

Thanks to ErgoZoom and everyone posting up information to help inform new buyers! First post here, and I'll be browsing a lot more often now that I have a CX-5 in the garage.

From my own experience and what I'm reading here, it sounds like the basic "deal" on a Touring with no options (sans loyalty or whatever specials might be in play) is $24000. Might be able to get it for less with negotiating, but you shouldn't pay more.

The target price and average price paid as stated by Truecar are very beatable if one possess a modicum of negotiation skills.

My impression is that Truecar is working with the dealerships at this point and their claimed deals aren't that great.

You might be right. On the Truecar site it mentions that there are not any current incentives to Mazda customers. This is clearly not the case. I am not sure who Truecar really benefits.

I paid $25699 before TTL for my 2015 CX-5 Touring AWD with the only extra being that they will tint the front windows that were not already tinted.

Picked up my liquid silver 2015 CX-5 GT AWD with tech package and roof rails today, $2300 under MSRP. Absolutely loved driving it home and very happy with my choice. Thanks to everyone who provided all the great tips on purchasing. Now off to the accessories threads to see what goodies to add to her :-)
