What car did you have at 16?

my first car was a 96 Camaro 5sp. Loved that car...
Sold it when I joined the Air Force.
When I got out I bought a 99 cavalier, traded that for a MP3, then a MSP, now a MS3.

What made mine unique?
1989 Chevy Caprice Station Wagon
280,000 miles on frame, 2nd Engine (Olds' 5.0 V8 pushing 140 whopping horsepower!)

This was the wagon with the rearward facing back seat. Mine was white and rusted out, so I took a can of black spray paint and made the "Moomobile" out of it by covering the rust spots. Also highlighting it were two 8" offroad lamps protruding out the top (the ears), the "HAY" identification for what most refer to as the "gas cap", and a wood-shop class fabbed 12" subwoofer that simply sat exposed in the back seats. I'll get pictures up when I get home.

my first car pales before the moo mobile.

I would have rigged it to leak milk.

My first car was a 73 VW Beetle that required me to bring a change of clothes in the event it rained.

Now that would not be fun, although it could make for interesting high school dates in the rain ;) .

I got my license on my 16th birthday but didn't get my own car until I was 18, which was an 84 Pontiac Fiero (bought at a yard sale!). Until then I drove the Dodge Caravan and the 88 Chevrolet Beretta that my parents owned.

I got my first at 18 which was a one year old 71 Mercury Capri 1600. Now i'm old and grey an have a MS3, CX-9, Protege 5 and a B2200.

My Favorite

I was the proud owner of a 3yr old Hurst Olds. Kept this baby all the way through college. Vintage 80's with T-Tops and tons of fun. Was quick, not fast, but sounded great and was certainly an eye-catcher back in the day. If I was smart, I would have kept it and put a GN Motor in it.

Once I had a real job in College, the TTZ became my new found favorite. Again, I should have kept her. Sweet ride with some pretty sophisticated tricks for back in the day.

at 15 I got my first car.... an 1986 Toyota MR2, auto.

3 years later... I had 3 MR2s, '86, '87, & '89!!!

I wish I still had them!

1989 Nissan 240sx.

I bought it stock, this is a few months after i bought it.

then it turned into this

finally it was hit by a drunk driver and totaled out by the insurance company.
a year later i saw it for sale in the Autotrader.

1987 Ford Crown Victoria LX LTD with the P72 Police Interceptor package (which was later split off from the taxi-fleet group to become the P71 package) that my old man bought off the lot in April of 87 after getting T-Boned in his old escort 5 door hatchback. Drove that car until I was 19, when something went bad in the torque converter and the tranny blew itself to pieces trying to make the 3-4 shift at 75 miles per hour..
What I find truly funny is that in 1983, at the age of 31, my dad bought a 5 door hatch back, at the age of 28, i bought....a 5 door hatch back...Twilight zone anyone?
