What blowoff valve are you running?

HKS V2 black version on the hot pipe-MSP
SYNAPSE Synchronic bov -MS6

by far the best BOV on the market is the synapse. why you ask, because its a pull type design that is piston actuated and does not have a diaphragm. instant release of excess boost. one of my buddies has an SSQV on his MS6 and he gets some compressor surge from it. no compressor surge for me though (thumb)

I use a TruboXS RFL, awesome sound it makes! It's not a squeak like the HKS, it's more a manly sound. Lol

X2. After ~ 2 years, It's getting old though, like my exhaust is. I may go back to Draw Through MAF, and run my Perrin Signature Series bpv.

I am currently running the stock BPV but I was looking to get the forge blow off valve that is suppose to be a stock replacement, I'm hesitant on buying it because I don't know of or have heard of anyone using it. My largest concern for this would be the car stalling if I put it on.

don't get the Forge BOV, it's a waste of money, and you will have stalling issues. If you must have a BOV go w/a dual port. But i suggest a Forge BPV. It is the exact same concept as the stock BPV

Thanks for the quick reply... I'm glad to get some more insight on it. I don't really need a replacement yet but its always nice to have some knowledge before a purchase.

but I was wondering if you actually had first hand experience with the forge blow off valve or is it something you just had prior information about.

back when i bought my car, just had intake and i bought the forge BOV. sounded like the biggest turkey ever, which granted i still had stock intercooler and piping, but the factory BPV sounded better. stock BPV went bad at 65,000 miles and blew a hole through my relocated MAF and now i own the Forge BPV (forge BOV was sold to my buddy for his 97 supercharged S10)
Here is a couple of pics.

I don't think I even have enough space to mount a BOV on the hot pipe, even though that is a good idea and only makes sense to do. I'll have to keeo this in mind.

If I had enough room you would too.
I'm running a larger turbo and thicker radiator and still was able to fit the larger SSQV when it was coming over the top and down. Now that the turbo is clocked down I have way more clearence!!

here is a pic of my clearence, its tight but nothing rubs, you can see the adj. screw on the back of my hks here

and here is a pic of the actual pipe, i had to cut and reweld the pipe so the top of the BOV is facing the front of the car and its pointing towards the drivers side

i would love to not include dumb ass people in an informative build that im doing but alot of people are curious as to whats going on with my build, and want to see the results or i wouldnt be on here anymore! i was just simply stating that people should use the search bar and do some research before opening a useless thread!

yes its a "useless" thread but if you dont like it there is no reason to come into some ones thread and s*** in it. would you like it if some one would go into your thread and say " Another build thread?" as long as ppl are contributing to the thread why not just leave it alone. maybe the old BOV threads are too old to bump. maybe there are new products out there that they would like to be informed about. i do retract my previous statement. that was not supposed to be a "personal attack" for you to GTFO. i should have just posted something like this instead.

I'm running the Synapse Syncronic BOV...

Come on, lets not ruin the thread. I really don't see anyone else asking questions in every thread or bumping an old thread from the grave about a BOV. He asked a simple question, " What Blow Off Valve are you running?". Reading this thread I am getting great feedback on all the types of BOV's there are and which members have them and why they love them or not. Plus its a easy search-able topic as worded.

Anyone who wants to upgrade their BPV to anything else should first realize that you NEED to have ~ a inch sized one to be most proficient in getting rid of the "compression surge" just replaceing the stock one with the same size nipple is complete failure. It willnot help. But with a greater nipple it releaces the pressure much better.

Just a reminder.

Here's a pic of my SSQV on the hot pipe before I clocked the turbo.
Keep in mind I'm running the larger Gt28RS and the thicker Corksport radiator. The BOV was actually resting tightly against my slim line fan.

I'll take a pic of my new set up and post it here.
