yea i just ordered the injen so ill be installing it pretty soon. how much time does it shave off your 0-60 and quarter mile for the automatic Mazda 3s?
What are the best intake systems?

no im pretty sure it does not. I haven't seen anything for the 2.0 as far as intake goes.

Here look at her ... keep in mind there was alot of antyrust oil all over the place, it has recently been cleaned out, and a few other things added in, but its a great pic of the intake!

i got the AEM CAI installed and i dont feel any diffrence. The only thing that is diffrent is just the sound. Pretty much, It still feels stock.

Well I am going for K&N because I lent them my car for the prototype. I am getting one installed for free within the next week or two. I am waiting on the blue one. Anyways my car is an auto and they had the same problem with the different trannys like the other guys. Thats why they needed the auto so we can have an intake with no problems. Anyways, I will get dyno results before and after the intake was put on. I am curious how well my horsepower is when it was completly stock. I will get back to you guys when I get the results. Oh yeah and by the way I asked if they have the intake for the 2.0s and they said no because those cars are hard to find. If any of you have the 2.0 and would like to get a free intake get a hold of K&N and let them know. They may take your car in for the prototype.

I got the Auto-EXE carbon fiber intake kit, and though it forced me to eat Ramen noodles for a month, the sound, feel, and off-the-line pull of the car is tremendous. I've driven along side a 5-speed 3s with the Injen system and once we made it to 60mph, I was over a full car length ahead of him, no joke. Plus the system sits no lower in the car than the factory airbox and is surrounded by a ram-air carbon fiber shroud which doubles as a sheild against splish-splashing, a big plus here in Florida.

I live in Central, FL as well and would like your advice on which intake system to buy cuz you seem to know the diffrence between the AUTO EXE system and Injen system.

Yeah, I got like $150 off for being the first to get one through BoomPlusToys, but it still ran me over $750, and believe me I was nervous about forkin out that much dough on a damn intake, but if owning a civic for 5 years taught me anything it's that in the aftermarket world, if you research carefully, you get what you pay for. And after driving with it for over 8 months I gotta say it was worth every penny, and I can't wait to try the exhaust system, time to stock up on more Ramen!!! HEre's some pics of it and the shift knob too:

I do believe CP-E is making an intake for you fella's which should be done shortly. I saw some of the piping work and it was utterly fantastic. Looks like a devil's S. Its also being designed on a 3s ATX...which means it will work on both the ATX and the MTX...none of this one sided pipe design non sense

As for gains, they'll know once its dyno'd...their 6i intake produced more hp and torque then any of the other available intakes on the market.

Do you know the HP gain with this system comparied to stock and the other intake systems?

I haven't had any cel problems, the only tricky part was deciphering the Japanese instructions, but if you follow the diagrams and visually check which parts go where, you shouldn't have any trouble. Just remember all the measurements are in metric (millimeters). The intake box itsself looks very much at home under the hood, and will look show quality when carbon-creations releases its carbon fiber engine cover early next year ($220). The chief difference between this system and the others like AEM or Injen is the construction materials. Most intakes on the market use a 2.5" or 3" metal tube (steel or aluminum) to a cone filter of the same size. This yeilds the wonderfully deep throaty growl we all know and love and looks great under the hood. But there is a condition known as heat-soak which is a common problem in high performance vehicles (turbo and N/A). To avoid this, Auto-EXE uses a 3" black silicon-rubber pipe, much like those used for intercooler piping. Also, the Auto-EXE system has an open front intake box made of carbon fiber, this bos not only shields the filter from engine heat and tire splashing, but directs cold incoming air from the headlight and (using a supplied stencil with measurements) actually interconnects with the battery intake duct to provide a ram-air effect (which becomes louder and pronounced after about 65mph). Also, to take full advantage of the slightly pressurized incoming air, they used a huge K&N 4" filter which adapts to the 3" tube to compress the incoming air even further. It has an aluminum flange on the outside of the intake box for the 3" tube and comes pre-tappe for the stock air-flow meter. There is a small temperature sensor which is not present on the Japanese verios of the 3 (and therefore not mentioned in the intake's instructions) don't fret though, simply afix the sensor to the wiring harness near the intake box and be sure the sensor's inlet hose faces down and you won't have any problems. It's a great intake system, here's a pic of it out of the car (courtesy of Boom-Plus Toys and Auto-EXE). Gains at non-moving stand-still are listed by Auto-EXE at 7-9hp and 5-6 lb/ft, but at highway speeds you can expect to see 40-50% above those numbers (a dyno in a wind tunnel is the only way to know for sure, and good luck finding that).
As for Corey-Fairbanks, a word of warning: I took my 3 in for it's first oil change and witness a car guy's nightmare. Some poor dude went and put 15 watt fog light bulbs in his 3 (stock bulbs are only 5 watts), naturally it melted the housings, he took it in knowing he'd have to pay for them out of pocket, what he didn't count on was having the head of the service dept. void the warranty on his entire veicle!!! I watched this poor guy literally break down in tears while the manager made the call. She then informed me that they will void warranties for subs in the trunk (they say it breaks the rear window seals, though with 3 500watt tens in my hatch, I haven't had any problems), changing bulbs, switching rims (even if you stay with 17's) and just about any other modification you could think of. Don't let this happen to you!! There is a solution. Take your 3 to courtesy Mazda on south OBT by the Florida Mall and talk to Pedro (tell'm Avery sent ya..lol) they actually modified they're own 3 and sent it to Spring Break Nationals in Daytona this year! You'll have no troubles there and they can even help you out with any installs you're not comfortable with doing yourself.
