Just about any remote start system will work on a 5 speed vehicle if it's hooked up right. The big places (circuit city, best buy, etc... won't install remote start on a 5 speed and all the manuals warn against it, but hooked up by an installer that knows what they are doing it will work fine.

If using a DEI alarm, use the negative bypass input to the neutral safety wire at the tranny or at the ECU. If in gear, it will send a positive signal, so the car alarm wont start the car, when in neutral it will send a negative signal so the alarm will start the car. I think is a pink/green wire.

Had a DEI Hornet 700T in the Protege, have an DEI Avital 2200 in my gf's car. I will probably install an Avital 4300 (has built in Turbo Timer) to replace the stock system in the truck.

i got it installed at $450.00 CAD cash.
