what a difference!

:
2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
Well finally got my awr motor mount in. Last time i tried the install i broke two socket wrenches and one breaker bar. I went out yesterday and bought a good breaker bar and got the mount in around 12 today. only took about 10-15 mins tops from riding the car on the rhino ramps to taking it off the ramps.
What a difference though. i really havent noticed to much noise or vibration. but everything feel so much tighter. My launches are alot better now. The gas pedal and clutch both feel alil tighter now. And no more stubling when ur at a high rpm and you let off the gas. It was one of the best mods i've done yet. If theres anyone yet that didnt change the front mount i highly reccommend it. I thinki might try the rear mount soon. anyone have any reviews on the rear mount? thanks

I can't wait to do mine!!! I was nervous about any more vibration at first but I think the benefits far outweigh a little more rattle in the 'ol dash!

Vibration is barely noticable with front mount only.

I just put mine in yesterday. I got the M/T. I have NO regrets about getting the stiffer one. I thought it was going to be much worse than it is. There's really not that much vibration. The only time I can really feel vibration is when I don't give it enough gas while letting out the clutch from a stop. Money well spent. (thumb)

out of curiosity is the msp front motor mount the same as a normal 2.0l protege motor mount?

Same here...Front and rear mount prices, or a link to where you guys are getting them from would be awsome. Also I'e heard things about a MT vs. AT mount. Which is more common for the MSP's?

yes, the stock msp motor mount is the same as the stock normal protege motor mount
that is gay. they should have put a better one in the msp.

If you haven't done this mod yet you'll be surpised as to how weak the stock one is. you can easily bend it without any effort.

I only got the front motor mount, it was about 60ish (can't remember exactly as I got it with some other things) Chris from SPD racing is where I got mine. PM him; he's very helpful. (FC3s Boy)
I think the front and rear go for around 115ish.
The only difference between M/T and A/T is the stiffness. Both of them fit regardless of what transmission you have (manual or auto). The A/T is less stiff and gives out less vibration. The M/T is stiffer and gives more vibration.

You can get them direct from AWR too - just use google. You can also order just the bushings too from AWR..which is nice so you can try both if you want. I'd just go with the AT bushings though - the MT are too hard IMO. Actually I don't really like having both front and rear mounts in - too much dash shaking and noise for me. I'll probably take them out come winter.
