I search mine all the time. First I flip through the index - nope not there. Then I search through the table of contents - nope, can't figure what section to look in. Then I just flip the pages searching for a picture that might have what I am looking for. PITA.

I don't care who you are, that's funny right there...

There's another forum that offered it to their vip members for download. The file was 100mb. Of course we can't link sites on this forum.

LOL! I like that one. And it's 100% correct. Like many printed manuals, it leaves a lot to be desired. Still handy to have, though.

And who wants to scan 1,400 pages?

someone on the aforementioned "other" forum scanned 2900 pages ; )

i have it.

yes, not being searchable is not as conventient, but just having one period, for free and available on the computer, makes it a pretty solid deal. i can find whatever i want, it just takes a little longer. eventually you get a feel for what group of pages correspond to the table of contents.

There are a few key sections that scanned would be far smaller, and still very, very useful for the average backyard mechanic.

Shoot, it may well be 2,900 pages. Mine's four 2" ring binders. The Ram manual is 2,895 pages. Chilton's, eat your heart out.

Tripped over this response again today. Had to laugh again. Perfect description of trying to figure out how someone else labeled and categorized an entry.
