so after many visits just to look at the car, i'm in negotiations with one dealership. ther final offer looks pretty good to me, heres how it pans out:
$17,757 invoice, dealer 'says' they are only making $500 on the sale, then i am taking the $1,500 rebate because it works out being cheaper than the interst rate for length of finance.

so the total on this fully loaded (except leather) black mica p5 comes to $16,857

looks pretty good to me, but i'm taking that price around to the other dealerships though i doubt i'll see a better deal :)

one more thing, they gave me a printout of the invoice and it says in the 'equipment category' 'PORTFOLIO' (eqp FOL), its listed along with floor mats, mid-cycle refresh, subwoofer etc.. whats is this?

Is that the out the door price. I have managed to get a 2003 5 with a sticker of 19165 out the door for 17300. That price includes everything,car,taxes,documentation fees,title,tags and all the rest of that s***. By the way the tax% in Jersey is 6%!!
 
hmm, i guess i forgot all about the taxes and all that boring stuff...i'll have to look into that
 
temptsboy, did you get the dealer to do all those costs for you?
because if thats the case i'd like to bring that up to them
 
Yes I did. What I dont want is them to give me a great price on the car and then stiff we with some other b.s. The price I have gotten so far is pretty much as low as I can get it right now. I will make one more attempt in the morning if the competing dealers don't budge I will buy the car tomorrow afternoon. You should come up with a price that you want to walk out the door paying. Hence the name of the price is the out the door price. Keep in touch with me through this post or at Temptsboy@aol.com and I will let you know how much I got mine for and that way you can have some proof to get your price lower.
 
alright, well i'm off tomorrow to face off with some dealers, and i'll get them to include tax title licensing etc, my deadline for the car is the end of the month or sooner because after that, they say they are changing to 'summer pricing' and things will go up

either way i don't want to take a chance
 
wtf is summer pricing? aren't u getting 2003.5? u can't get 2003.6. they just want to close this deal this month. since all the dealers need to sell as much as possible to get more cars from mazda.

under 17k for a loaded car that's pretty good. i got mine for 15k but if i'll add all the goodies it's still be under 17k. are u giong with stick or automatic btw.
 
For the love of God dont pay them any mind. Call them bulls***!! The prices are going nowhere!!! The car is being replaced if anything you are doing them a favor by buying the car. I am buying the car now cuz I sold my ride and I need something soon but dont worry about prices going up thats a tactics that those sheisters use!
 
just look at mazda.ca for canada: 2003 P5 ES + A/C + Auto + moonroof only $23,285 canadian !

anyway... so it is cheaper to get it now than 2 months later ?
 
it's going to be the same price guys!!! 2003.5 models aren't going to cost more. they going to cost less because of mazda 6 wagon and possibly mazda 3. !!!
 
did you check out the costco discount? if you know someone with a membership you can get a really good discount. they said its the absolute lowest price

costco usually have $500 above invoice, which isnt too bad at all
 
Costco is $150 above invoice and you can still get the $1750 rebate of special financing just like normal, we choose the 0% for three years since it worked out less. My wife and I just got one last week. It was very nice not to have to worry about haggling this time around.
 
i got mine for 17000 flat after taxes and all the other fee's i dont have leather or moonroof or anythingthing, stock 5 speed, with the airbags and abs.
