Hey all,
Well first off I did the swiss cheese mod to my stock air box on my MS3.I have this sound (Not the BOV)that happens in low rpms (ie 2k-4k) when I accelerate and decelerate,Its hard to explain. So I take it to mazda and the mechanic and I take a spin.Right away he hears the sound and says it must be some vavle or actuator.I tell the guy what I did to the intake and that I added a boost gauge so he dont get surprised,He said dont worry I know why you did it.
So anyways I just got a call and they want me to buy and new air box for $180 so they can be sure that isnt causing the noise even tho I told them it was doing it before I modded the box.I asked if I get my money back after they find out that it wasnt from the box and he says No.So I said cant you just take one from another car to test and he said No.He also told me that my air box is getting too much air.I said that my car isnt giving a CEL so could to much air really be a problem? He said Yes.I said the maf sensor cant adjust for that and he told me No.
Finily I just told him Im not giving them $180 and Ill come get my car tomorrow.
What do you guys think about what they said?Is he right about to much air?
