Weight reduction, the way to go???

take out all the stock seatbelt rollers and seatbelts, alltogether it weighs about 35 lbs, get some racing harness's that weigh next to nothing =), just something no one has mentioned yet

what about this would it help out at all? Is this to prevent drag or to reduce weight? anyway I just thought I would put it here to see what you guys think.

Just do the back windows with the lexan. The racing harnes is a good idea. Pluss it would look good.

did i misses it or not body say anything about taking out the a/c, radio, speaker, cruise control, Power steering(convert to manual), abs, carpet, backseat?

lexan is not legal to run on the street in socal as far as i know.

it really depends how far you gonna go.
you can cut a hole in the unibody underbody and support it with titanium bars
and run some skinnies steelies in the back

edit: just checked the link above, it's crazy.
i know they make them in fiber glass but not cf..

i know corksport sells some interesting stuff. saw a complete fibreglass dash that only weighed 1.5 pounds. i think they also have a whole front end: hood, finders, and front bumper as one piece that only weighs a couple of pounds. corksport

and if your serious about weight reduction i wouldnt be whinning about not havin power windows :|

also get rid of the airbags and get a lighter sterring wheel. gut all the back seats and extra plastic crap. gut the roofrack and ceiling visors and cover, moonroof (if u have one). get one light racing bucket seat (shouldnt have a passenger ;) ) lighter alminum flywheel. get rid of all that un-neccissary stuff.

have fun

and after alll that.... i think you find that you should have just gotten a turbo. i though hiboost had some auto's with over 200hp? oh well
