Weekend Projects

Ugh, you guys are not helping me stick to my plan of keeping my car stock. I wish I had some spare cash so I could throw it at my car.

I have it set on the stiffer setting. Ain't it PURDY?

Looking good!

Flushing the tranny tonight and replacing the inner tie rod tomorrow. Project "get more miles" is almost complete!

It's time we bumped this thread, again. Surely, some of you guys are taking advantage of the warm weather to get some projects done.

I went by the painter, today. There is finally some red on the car! He'd just gotten done putting the first mist coats on the car, when I got there. It's at that ugly stage of the process. It looked good to me, though.

I might try to work the slight kink out of my rear boost tube thanks to the ETS TMIC today. My real weekend project for this weekend is an oil change and an air filter change. For my lawnmower!

What a nasty mouth you have. Don't remind me! I still have three big trees to clean up from the ice storms.

We got the Roush out, today. It was time to cruise!

I refuse to fire up my mower between October 31st and April 15th. And I LOVE summer droughts; if the grass looks and crunches like shredded wheat I'm in Heaven...

Here in Louisiana all it takes is about 1 day of 50+ degree weather and the grass grows like mad. Winter was fun while it lasted, but the once a week mowing season is already back :\

I painted my ETS TMIC shroud black today.

The gasket is already leaving gray marks all over it :\

Yikes!

Can't say that I am tuning up the mower yet but I have gotten out the spring fertilizer and plan to lay it down next weekend.

That turned out really good.

I changed my tie rod end yesterday and greased my steering gear linkage and inner tie rod. Wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. Had to torch the bolt on the tie rod end to get it to open up.

Going to wash it when I get off of work today.

It looks like it may be a great day, today. I may go flying, this morning, and wash a couple of cars, this afternoon.

So this translates as: "You guys have fun on your Monday at work, I am going to go enjoy myself."

LOL

How is Little Red coming along?

Keep in mind that I was most likely working when you were still in diapers, or before that, even. It's time to play!

I haven't seen Little Red since Friday. Hopefully, he has the rest of the red on it, by now. It had three mist coats on it when I saw it. With luck, I may have it back home, by the weekend. I'm not rushing him, though.

Not knocking at all, today was beautiful.

Sounds good on the paint. Are you going witht he same red as before?

Today, I get to gather limbs from the ice storm so the city can pick them up. The fun is over.

Yeah, I went back original on the color. I hate seeing a paint job that gets a scratch and shows the original color underneath or has the original color showing in those places it's hard to get new paint to. Going back to the original color makes things so much easier. We kinda like red, anyway. All of our cars are some variation of red. I do like the metallics, though. The Velocity Red on the RX-8 and Dark Candy Apple Red on the Roush are nice. I'll probably go see how the red came out, tomorrow. Hopefully, he'll have sanded it, by then, and be applying the clear coat.

Funny. I will be changing the oil and air filter in my mower this weekend along with a blade sharpening.

You guys aren't helping me feel any better! I'll most likely wait until after I mow the first time before I do the maintenance. I've got a yard full of small twigs left from the ice storm that will be mulched in. I also have a few small rocks that seem to get pushed up, each year. No need to sharpen the blades until after I get past that.

I went over and checked on the Miata, this morning. It's red! In fact, the clear coat is on, as well. The painter is already putting the car back together. He has yet to sand and buff the car; so, it still looks a little rough around the edges; but, all should smooth right out. The color is right on. It looks so much better without the dings. Needless to say, it's going to need a bunch of cleaning, this time. It should be fun to see it get really pretty as I get things done.

As a coming home gift, I ordered some bling and a cover for the Miata, this morning. I didn't get too much bling: SS door sills, SS vent bezels, a new console cover to replace a cracked one, and a chrome gas cap cover. If I get carried away with it, I'll have to hear from you guys.

I took one of the seats over to the painter. He was glad to get that. He's almost got it ready to go, again. It's absolutely beautiful. It came out better than I'd hoped. I had to order the front mud flaps, though. I have a set on the rear; but, I quickly realized the front tires are going to mess up that new paint, since we removed the protective coating. I should already have ordered them and hadn't. I'm really anxious to get it home, now.
