Well, my weekend project is finally over with and here are some pictures of the finished product. You can read about my trials and tribulations in my other thread "venting a little..."

These pictures are of the engine bay.

Here are some more pictures. The front shot and back shot of the car and an undercar shot of the pipe...it's freaking huge.

And here are some misc. pictures of stuff. One is showing how there is very, very little clearance for the pipe next to the fan. Another is my Delsing Kluck fix bracket and end link. One is of the bpv. And the last is a picture of the turbo. I've circled the studs that broke off during the installation of the new downpipe. I was so frustrated I didn't take a picture of them when they were broken.

How did you convert your Injen to a Short Ram? What did you do with the Air temp sensor?

if you just ziptie the sensor to something close to the intake, it will run fine, all it needs is the temp of the air...

if you want to be really creative make a hold in your top of your filter, insert the grommet that came with the injen that you will no longer be using, untape the sensor wires and insert it in the end of the filter.

Looks good. Where did you put the IAT sensor in you Injen?

I drilled a hole about 1-2 inches behind the MAF (right before the bend) on the bottom and put the grommet from the other pipe in there and then stuffed the IAT in there. Works really well. I'll take and post a picture of the bracket I made to hold the filter up tomorrow.

Hey Allen looks great man. Its alot of work to get it to look the way you want. I also converted my injen into a short ram very easy to do. How do you like the power now? Are you still running stock boost? When im on stock boost mine runs like s*** but on 10 psi it runs great. We need to hook up man on a sunday let me know when your not busy and ill have the wife make some good food and have you and the family over. ok take care man and be safe

front mount looks way off, but the setup is sexy.
its not supposed to be centered in the bumper if that's what you mean.

Allen- Pictures would be great. I was looking at protegeV's and I was afraid the filter would be resting on the body, thanks for confirming that is the case if you don't make a bracket.

ehhh... DRIVING IMPRESSIONS? I want to get the full skivvy on how all of this hard work paid off for you!

Yup - curious to know if ALL of the hassles were worth it!!

daedalus & rktktpaul - YES, the hard work and hassles were totally worth it all. I really do have a new car. This is how Mazda should have made them. I have virtually zero turbo lag, boost went up to a steady 8 psi and doesn't drop off, the exhaust has a nice growl to it (not "civic" sounding), the turbo whistle is very loud and distinct, and it just looks badass now.

mx3ownzj00 - I'll get pics of the bracket for you tomorrow. It rained all day today and I had a really horrible day at work.
