week old MSP DIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yashooa, I wasn't going off, i was stating i wasn't a total retard when it comes to cars. I have alot to learn but i know to atleast check somestuff. I was being sarcastic. No anger in that statement!!! Some one said i probably didn't check, i just said i did, thats all!!

The greatest part about this is They own Nissan right next door too. But the service is completely different between the 2, like night and day. Mazda's neighbors (nissan) is where I bout my old 350Z and why I sold my 350Z. I will never buy another Nissan again!!!

3:30pm and still no word. Looking like i am stuck with this P5 another day!!

Theres gonna be problems with cars that are driving hard. Modified cars break, and even non-modified cars break. It sucks, but nothings perfect.
You have a warranty, and they should honor it, since a FMIC and exhaust arent mechanically linked to the transmission, other than the more power it puts to the system, but it would be hard to show that caused the failure in the diff or tranny, or whatever is broken.
I know youre pissed Greg, and it shouldnt have broken, but it did.
 
Well i got the car back, and it was none other than the intake seal coming loose. They asked me if i had done any mods, attempted any mods or if i was hot dogging it.

I told them the car has a lil over 800 miles and that i don't start modding a car until its on its 3 rd oil change. I told them i was eccelerating out of a community and went to shift at 5000 rpms. Then i told themm if a car built with a turbo can't handle that then they shouldn't put it on the market!

They flashed the ECU because this supposable caused the ECU to readjust and they had to reset it (so they said). I have to say the car has a better powerband from the flash but now i am concerned about adding boost like i intended. well I guess i will paly this one by ear.

Damn that was scary!!! Thanks for the comments, you all were right!!!!
 
If you get through the life of any car only needing one or two trips to the stealership for service, you'll be doing fine. Chill out(burnout) , I think its a little premature to start screaming lemon.
 
I have owned a 95 jeep wrangler, o1 civic, 350z, and now the MSP and in the 10 years i have driven the only engine problm i ever had so far is with the MSP. I know i jumped the gun buut i am not use to cars just crapping out on me right out of the factory!!! Lessoned learned i guess!!!
 
Hey, the problem was something really minor, and it was fixed for free without too much hassle.

Not a problem at all in my book...that's what warranties are for :)

If the engine falls out of it, then start your post "MY FRIGGIN ENGINE FELL OUT OF THIS MUTHA!!!! (evil) Until then enjoy! (nana)

sounds like either the intake bypass valve nipple thingy broke and is leaking air, or one of the intercooler or throttle body pipes popped off giving the maf false readings because the pop sound, and the stalling problem you had sounds exactly what happened to me. sure enough one of the pipes popped off and caused my car to act like that... but if not let us know :D -mike

I just bought my MSP and in a little over 1 week i put a lil over 700 miles on it (I drive alot). I babied the breakin period with 5+min warmups not going into turbo intill car was fully warmed up. I always shifted at no more than 5000 rpms (well maybe once or twice at 6000).

So today i was driving with my GF from her mothers house and i go to get onto a main road. The car is fully warmed up because we were only there breifly. I pull out in first and shift at 4-4500 rpms and then i drop it into second and the turbo kicks in at around 4000rpms and i hear a whine like always (this whine has been concerning me doesn't sound right to me) and i get ready to shift at 5000 and BOOOMMMM, CACHUNK!!!

Felt and sounded like I threw a rod. the car starts loosing power and eventualy stalls outI have enough time to pull it out of the way and i get out and check the engine. Everything looks fine no smoke no leaks no nothing. So i start it up and it starts right up. I hit the gas and it stalls.

I realize i can start and drive to my dealer which was conveniently a mile away. As i go into first i feel a major bog of power loss. I was hell trying to keep this thing going. It stalls when i go into second so i startit up on the role. I get it into second and it hessitates to get over 35 but eventually goes. Power seemed consistant so i keep it there at about 5000 rpms all the way to the dealer. I pull into the dealer and when i go to slow down for the turn it stalls AGAIN!! i start on a role and pull it into a spot and it stalls YET AGAIN!

I walk in see my salesman and dealer manager and they ask me how the cars is. I tell them its DEAD! Their jaws nearly hit the ground!

Well they get me a loaner immediately and are giving the car to the Master Mechanic on monday morn. So for now i am driving a Protege5.

The reason i left Nissan was because of horrible customer service. mazda, even though i think i got a lemon, has great customer service so far.

There ar NO mods to my car, any of you have any guesses to what may be wrong. Did i not break in the turbo right, I RTM and followed it. This concerns me. WTF!
when you took off after starting it did it bog down till about 3.5-4 rpms and then give alittle power? i had a very close problem to yours my car would not go anywhere in 1st gear and would give me the slowest exceleration throughout 1-2 gears up to about 3.5-4 rpms it would goto rev then sound like it strugleing to go anywhere and had no power when let off gass rpms would drop like motha f**** and car start to stall if you werent quick on clutch and shifting.. took mine home and let it sit because when it happened turbo wouldnt spool... had no air to air intake and engine wasnt getting any air in 1-2 gears but 3-5 it ran fine... i thought it was weird as hell.. but sounds like you had somewhat same problem
 
the same thing just happened to me a week ago ^^...Too bad they'll void our warranty if we switched to hard pipes.
