Weak sway bar endlinks?

turbo colts, looking for a p5
I wonder if the p5's have a weak endlink.
We recently bought our 03 p5, and so far the only problem i have found with it has been a light clunk noise from the front left side.
I raised the car up, tie rods and ball joints are tight, but it seems the sway bar endlink has slight movement.

Is this a common problem on these cars? It gets annoying hearing that clunk.
The endlink looks fine and safe, its just the noise, and for sure its gonna get worse. IM gonna change it anyway, but just curious, if its common.

i dont think ive heard p5's doing the clunk but i know the msp's have that infamous CLUNK

I have the Progress 22mm rear sway bar with the stock endlinks. Mine started to clunk when the suspension suddenly had to flex a lot (entering/exiting driveways, speed bumps, etc) and it went away when I re-greased the sway bar bushings. I think the clunk in the P5's (at least with upgraded sways) comes from the bushing clamping the bar (from lack of lube) and then it suddenly pops loose and rotates to where it should be. The pop is what you hear in the cabin. This was the case for me but I'm sure there are several reasons why the P5 goes clunk in the night.

well, this clunk is ever so slight. Its hard getting used to car that is quiet. I cant hear the motor. At least my other cars have an exhaust which dampens many clunks.

Im sure if i was to put my 15" vega in the p5, i would hear lots of rattles too. That is why the p5 is the wife's, and staying as stock as possible. Until its old enough to get a turbo. I dont think she will let me have a third toy car. Two turbo colts might be enuff.

I'm quite happy with the stock suspension though, its pretty tight for a factory setup. I hope to leave it that way(but eibach prokit is in the back of my mind)

I need new rear endlinks. I have a 19mm SR-Motorsports rear sway bar. I noticed a clunk and looked under the car today and they have seperated.

Guess its time for AWR adjustables.

Mine developed a "clunk" after a while. The dealer replaced the endlink bushings, or whatever needed replacing, under warranty. No more clunk. The joins wear out a get sloppy. When this happens, it will clunk when going over bumps. If you can wiggle any of the endlink joins, then its going to clunk.

Get them replaced by the dealer under warranty... if possible.

yeah, yeah, fart louder.

So the end links are a common problem with these cars. Im not surprised, it looks like a long thin dogbone that a chihuahua can break on first bite.

The one side of mine making the clunk has ever so slight movement. Just enuff movement to resonate throughout the car's body/frame.

This week it shall be changed, and remote start installed.
